LeadSquared for healthcare: show Google and Meta which ads become booked consults
Your intake team moves every inquiry through LeadSquared stages, from new lead to consult booked to procedure. Google Ads and Meta never see those stages: their tags fire on a form submit, and LeadSquared's own Meta connector only covers Facebook Lead Ads leads. We send the stages that matter back to each platform from your own server, matched to the original click, with no health details attached.

LeadSquared · what breaks
What goes wrong with LeadSquared and your ads
- 01
"Google counts every form fill. Our patient coordinators count consults."
The Google tag fires on the form submit, so duplicates, price shoppers and out-of-area inquiries all count the same. LeadSquared knows which ones reached Consult Booked, but nothing documented sends that back, so Smart Bidding keeps buying form fills.
- 02
"Meta only learns from our Instant Form leads"
LeadSquared's Conversions API connector keys on the Lead Gen ID from Facebook Lead Ads. Website and phone inquiries never reach Meta as qualified, so your IVF or bariatric campaigns optimize toward the cheapest form leads.
- 03
"Half our leads say Source: blank"
LeadSquared documents automatic UTM capture only on its own landing pages, and its tracking script stores the values only once the visitor is identified. Main-site forms and CallRail calls can arrive with no campaign attached, so you can't tell which ads book consults.
- 04
"We're not sure what we're allowed to send"
It's easy to wire a treatment-named stage or a mail-merged intake answer into a Meta event. Then a vein clinic or rehab center is sharing health context with an ad platform without meaning to.
LeadSquared · the fix
What changes — LeadSquared
Google Ads bids on kept consults, not form fills
When a lead reaches the stage you pick in LeadSquared, Google Ads gets the conversion against the stored click, so bidding chases searches that fill your LASIK, implant or weight-loss calendar.
Meta hears about every channel, once
Website and phone inquiries join your Lead Ads leads as server-side events with a shared event ID, so the Pixel and server never double count.
Cost per consult by service line
Campaign and service line sit on each lead, so you see which ads produce fertility consults or MRI bookings, checked against LeadSquared's own counts.
LeadSquared · architecture
What LeadSquared actually lets you hook into
Taken from LeadSquared's help center. Most of its ad connectors bring data in; the way back to Google and Meta is what we build.
- 1
Tracking script and UTM fields
A JavaScript tracker, added by hand or through Tag Manager, fills Source, Source Medium, Source Campaign and Source Content on LeadSquared landing pages. Other parameters need custom utm fields.
- 2
AdWords DataSync
Pulls keyword and campaign click data into a "Google AdWords capture" activity, refreshed every 24 hours, on marketing plans. It doesn't send conversions to Google.
- 3
Lead form connectors
Google Ads lead form assets arrive in real time through a webhook per form; Facebook and Instagram Lead Ads come through a paid connector. Both bring leads into LeadSquared, and neither documents sending conversions back.
- 4
Facebook Conversions API connector
Paid. Sends lead and stage events to your Pixel through an automation and webhook, only for leads carrying a Facebook Lead Gen ID.
- 5
Webhooks and Zapier
Webhooks cover lead creation, stage change, activities and opportunities. A webhook switches off after ten failures in a row, so we monitor it.
- 6
EHR (HL7) connector
Paid, US-only. Brings patient records and appointments in as leads and activities. We confirm whether attended status comes through before relying on it.
LeadSquared · diagnose
Where LeadSquared tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
Start with what the Google tag is counting, because in most healthcare accounts it counts submissions, not patients.
- 01
Find where the Google conversion fires
Thank-you page, redirect script or landing page head. Check whether a duplicate inquiry fires it again.
- 02
Check whether the click ID lands on the lead
Click a test ad, submit, open the lead. An empty field, or a gclid that only appears a day later via DataSync, breaks offline import.
- 03
Count tracking script copies
LeadSquared reports the script as not installed when it loads through Tag Manager, which is how two copies go live.
- 04
See what reaches Meta
Do website leads reach Meta at all, and do Lead Ads events arrive twice?
- 05
Compare stages with conversions
Consults per campaign in LeadSquared against each platform, over a closed month.
- 06
Read every event payload
No stage names, form answers or fields that reveal a condition or treatment.

Source of truth
LeadSquared lead records: stage history, appointment activities and Lead Source fields, by date, campaign and service line
- A test lead from an ad click, with gclid or fbclid on the record at creation.
- One stage change producing exactly one conversion in Google Ads and one in Meta.
- A shared event ID confirmed where Pixel and server both report.
- Payloads signed off by your compliance lead before go-live.
- Consults reconciled lead by lead against both platforms across a closed window.
- A disqualified lead and a no-show confirmed absent from the primary conversion.
- Rerun at 30 days, and again whenever your team renames a stage or launches a new viewpage.co landing page.

LeadSquared · when not to buy
When you don't need this on LeadSquared
Some LeadSquared accounts need a settings check, not a rebuild.
- If you only run Facebook Lead Ads and the native Conversions API connector already matches your LeadSquared stage counts, keep it.
- If most patients come from physician referrals and paid ads are a small slice, LeadSquared's source reports are enough.
- If your coordinators don't update stages reliably, fix that first; stale stages teach Google nothing.
- If the whole problem is the tracking script loading twice, hard-coded and through Tag Manager, remove the hard-coded copy as LeadSquared's GTM guide says. That's a free fix, not a project.

FAQ
LeadSquared questions, answered
Not that its help center documents. AdWords DataSync pulls click data in once a day and the lead form connector brings leads in; sending stage changes back to Google is built separately, with webhooks and offline conversion import.
Only if all your leads come from Facebook Lead Ads. The connector relies on the Lead Gen ID, so website forms and calls aren't covered.
LeadSquared offers a Business Associate Agreement for its healthcare CRM and says it's built to handle PHI, but that BAA covers LeadSquared, not Google or Meta. We send a click ID, timestamp, neutral event name and value, and your compliance lead approves the field list.
LeadSquared's own help article lists twelve causes, from a conversion script on the landing page instead of the thank-you page to time zones and view-through conversions. We reconcile a closed month first.
Google's personalized advertising policy treats health as a sensitive category and doesn't support Customer Match or your data segments for those ads. We check this before any list leaves LeadSquared.
They sit on a LeadSquared domain unless you point a subdomain at them with a CNAME. Moving them to your subdomain keeps click storage first-party.
