From freelance paid media manager to tracking specialist — here is the full story

I'm Ariful Islam, founder of Tracking Consulting. I started as a freelance paid media manager running Google Ads and Meta Ads for brands worldwide. When I realised the conversion data behind those campaigns could not be trusted, I shifted my entire focus to fixing the tracking layer. That decision became a business — and today we help brands with both: clean tracking and strong paid media.

The journey from paid ads freelancer to tracking consultant

Every milestone in this story came from a real problem. Ariful did not plan to build a tracking consultancy — he was forced into it by data that kept lying.

2016 – 2018

Freelance paid media

Started running Google Ads and Meta Ads for growing brands

Ariful began as a freelance paid media manager working with clients worldwide, helping eCommerce brands and local businesses run Google Ads, Meta Ads, and lead generation campaigns. He was hitting targets, but the numbers never fully added up.

2018 – 2020

The problem discovered

The ads were working — but the data could not be trusted

Conversion reports disagreed between Meta, Google, and the client's CRM. Pixels fired twice. Attribution was inconsistent. Ariful stopped blaming the platforms and went looking for the real problem — and found it sitting in the tracking layer.

2020 – 2022

Tracking specialist

Built deep expertise in GTM, server-side, CAPI, and GA4

He went all in: Google Tag Manager, server-side containers, Conversion API, Enhanced Conversions, first-party cookies, and GA4 event architecture. Clients started hiring him purely to fix tracking — and when the data improved, so did campaign performance.
