JobTread conversion tracking: the proposal gets signed in the portal, and your ads never hear about it
A homeowner clicks your kitchen remodel or deck ad, fills in the JobTread web form on your site, and shows up as a new JobTread customer with nothing saying which ad sent them. Weeks later they sign the proposal in the customer portal, while Google and Meta keep counting form fills from people who only wanted a drywall patch. We carry the click into JobTread and report approved proposals, with contract value, back to your ad accounts.

JobTread · what breaks
What goes wrong when JobTread sits between your ads and your signed jobs
- 01
"Google says the form converts. I can't tell which of those leads signed."
Your ads count the web form submit and stop there. A request for a closet shelf and a whole-home addition look identical, so Smart Bidding buys more of whatever fills the form fastest.
- 02
"New customers show up in JobTread with no source"
The web form fills a JobTread customer from the fields you set up, and JobTread's feature pages say nothing about hidden fields or URL parameters, so we confirm whether yours can carry them. Unless someone built that path, the click ID dies on the way in and lead source becomes whatever a rep types.
- 03
"The signature happens in an email link, weeks after the click"
Proposals are approved in the customer portal through a personal link JobTread emails to the homeowner. Your site tags never load there, so the moment money is committed never reaches Google Ads or Meta.
- 04
"Subs and repeat clients inflate my lead count"
JobTread pitches its web-to-lead forms for vendors as well as customers. When a sub's registration or a past client's warranty request counts as a lead, cost per lead looks better than it is and the platforms learn from the wrong people.
JobTread · the fix
What changes after the fix — JobTread
Every JobTread customer carries its ad source
Google click ID, Meta click ID and UTM tags live in custom fields on the customer and job, so every lead in JobTread shows the campaign that sent it.
Bidding learns from approved proposals
When a proposal flips to approved in the portal, Google Ads and Meta get a conversion with the contract value, matched to the original click.
Junk drops out of the numbers
Vendor submissions, change orders and repeat clients are filtered before anything is reported, so cost per signed job is a number you can plan a budget around.
JobTread · architecture
What JobTread actually lets you hook into
All of this comes from JobTread's own docs and its Zapier listing. Where the docs are silent, it's a test on your account.
- 1
Customer web form, by hosted link or embed code
Documented. Submissions create a customer, or a customer and a job together, from the fields you customize. We confirm whether your embed accepts hidden or prefilled values; the docs don't say.
- 2
Custom fields on customers and jobs
JobTread documents custom fields on customers, customer contacts and jobs. This is where the click ID, UTM tags and a clean lead source belong.
- 3
Zapier triggers and actions
Zapier lists triggers including Customer Created, Job Created, Job Updated and Document Updated, plus actions such as Create Customer, Create Job and Query API.
- 4
Open API with grant keys
JobTread's open API (its Pave query language) is authorized by grant keys, and its API developer certification covers webhooks on JobTread events. We confirm which events your account can use.
- 5
Customer portal and payments
Homeowners sign and approve proposals in the portal through an emailed magic link, and pay invoices sent through the portal online via JobTread's Stripe integration. The document status change is what we listen for.
- 6
No native ad-platform connection
JobTread's integrations page lists no Google Ads, GA4, Google Tag Manager or Meta integration, so signals have to be built.
JobTread · diagnose
Where JobTread tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
We start at the form: if the click never reaches JobTread, nothing downstream can be matched.
- 01
Check what a test lead carries into the customer record
Submit from a URL with a test click ID and open the new customer in JobTread.
- 02
Find out what your site counts as a conversion
A thank-you page view, a submit-button click, or nothing at all if the embedded JobTread form never tells your tags it was sent.
- 03
Look at how lead source gets filled
Free text typed by a rep can't be trusted for budget decisions.
- 04
See whether any event leaves JobTread when a proposal is approved
Usually none does, which is the whole gap.
- 05
Count vendor, warranty and repeat-client records
They have to be excluded before any conversion goes out.
- 06
Check Zapier-fed leads from Facebook Lead Ads or Google lead forms
Confirm the platform's lead ID is stored in JobTread so it can be sent back when the job signs.

Source of truth
JobTread customer, job and document records: approved proposals with approval date and contract value, plus invoices paid through the customer portal
- One test lead from an ad-tagged URL, with the click ID visible on the JobTread customer.
- A test proposal approved in the portal and received once in Google Ads and once in Meta, sharing one event ID.
- Contract value on the conversion matching the approved document.
- Vendor submissions and change orders confirmed absent from the conversion feed.
- Approved proposals reconciled record by record against both ad platforms over a closed month.
- Repeated 30 days later and after any change to your form or Zap.

JobTread · when not to buy
When you don't need this on JobTread
Some JobTread shops are better off spending the money elsewhere.
- If nearly all your work comes from referrals and repeat builders and you barely advertise, there's little for an ad platform to learn from.
- If proposals get signed on paper outside the JobTread portal, fix that first; there's no approval event to send.
- If leads land in HighLevel or another CRM first and it already reports qualified leads back with click IDs, the work may belong there, and we'll say so.
- If you're happy bidding on JobTread web form submits, a clean submit conversion on the page that hosts the form is a small job you can do yourself.

FAQ
JobTread questions, answered
Not natively. JobTread's integrations page lists no Google Ads, GA4, Google Tag Manager or Meta connection, so conversions have to be sent through Zapier, its open API or a server container we set up.
JobTread's feature pages don't mention hidden fields or URL parameters on the web form, so we test yours. If it can't hold them, we use a form on your own site that creates the JobTread customer through Zapier's Create Customer action, with the click ID in a custom field.
The approved proposal, valued at the contract amount. Form fills and new jobs stay as secondary steps so Google and Meta see the funnel without bidding on it.
Yes, through offline conversion import or enhanced conversions for leads, which Google documents for conversions that happen after the click. The click ID, plus the homeowner's email for enhanced conversions for leads, has to be stored in JobTread from day one.
Not by itself. The Zap creates the customer, but Meta only learns when the approved proposal is sent back through the Conversions API with the lead ID or contact details.
