Homeowners design their new siding in Hover. Your ads never hear about it.
A homeowner clicks your ad, uploads a photo of their house into the Hover Design Embed, tries three siding colors and fills out your lead form. Google Ads and Meta usually record nothing, because that form lives inside Hover's embed. Hover does announce each submission to your page, but with UTMs only and no Google or Meta click ID. We catch that announcement, attach the click ID we saved when the homeowner landed, and send the signed Hover agreement back as the sale.

Hover · what breaks
What goes wrong with Hover leads
- 01
"Hover gets me leads, but my ad account shows zero"
The lead form sits inside Hover's embed, so a form trigger watching your own page never fires. Bidding sees paid visits that never convert and pulls back on the very campaigns that feed your design tool.
- 02
"My CRM just says the lead came from Hover"
Hover only passes UTMs that were on the page at submit, so untagged ads, redirects or a Zap that drops those fields leave a roof replacement request with no ad attached. You can't tell whether it came from Google, Meta or a yard sign.
- 03
UTMs come through, the click ID doesn't
Hover's docs list utm_source, utm_campaign and the other UTM fields on each submission. Google Ads and Meta match conversions on gclid and fbclid, and neither appears in Hover's documented payload, so uploading Hover leads as-is gives the platforms nothing to match.
- 04
Ads optimize for playing with colors, not signed jobs
A homeowner who tries a design and submits a form is a lead, not a sale. If the signed Hover agreement never flows back, bidding learns from curious browsers instead of the siding and window jobs that actually closed.
Hover · the fix
What changes — Hover
Every embed submission counted once
One conversion per Hover lead, fired from your page with the click ID and a shared event ID so the browser and server copies don't double up.
Each design lead tied to its ad
Hover's lead record, its UTMs and the click ID from your page sit together in one record, so you see which campaign produced which homeowner.
Signed agreements teach your bidding
When a homeowner signs the Hover agreement, we tie that job back to its design lead through your CRM and send the sale to Google Ads and Meta against the original click, so spend follows closed siding and roofing jobs.
Hover · architecture
What Hover actually lets you hook into
Hover is a measurement and design platform with no native Google Ads, GA4 or Meta connection in its docs. Its developer docs do give four hooks worth building on.
- 1
Browser submit message
Hover documents a window.postMessage event named instant-design-lead-form-submitted, sent to your page when the lead form is submitted, carrying utm_id, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content.
- 2
Instant Design Lead Form Submitted webhook
The same submission as a server-side webhook. New webhooks stay inactive until you verify them by sending back a code Hover posts to your URL.
- 3
Agreement webhooks
Hover documents one event when an agreement is generated and another, project-management-signature-request-state-changed, that reaches state complete with a signed_at time once the homeowner signs.
- 4
Zapier
An instant Lead Form Submitted trigger paired with a Get Instant Design Lead by Lead ID action, plus a Proposal Generated trigger with an optional signed-only setting. Hover says the lead route needs its Lead Convert feature and an admin login.
- 5
What we confirm on your account
Which form fields your custom lead form sends, how a signed agreement's job links back to the original design lead (Hover's agreement examples show job and sales opportunity IDs, not a lead ID), and whether a dollar amount is available. Hover's docs don't show a price field, so job value may need to come from your CRM.
Hover · diagnose
Where Hover tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
We start on the page that hosts the embed, because most Hover leads go missing before they ever reach a server.
- 01
Does anything listen for Hover's submit message?
Submit a test design from an ad-tagged URL and watch for the instant-design-lead-form-submitted event on your page.
- 02
Is the click ID still on the page when the form submits?
A homeowner can upload a photo, try designs and submit later, so gclid and fbclid must be stored on landing and still readable when the form goes in.
- 03
Do the UTMs Hover passes match your campaigns?
Hover only forwards UTMs present on the submitting page, so untagged ads or redirects show up as blank sources.
- 04
Is the webhook verified and delivering?
An unverified Hover webhook sends nothing, and errors land in its last_error field.
- 05
Do signed agreements reach the ad platforms?
We compare signatures in Hover against sales reported in Google Ads and Meta for the same weeks.

Source of truth
Hover Instant Design leads and signed agreements in your Hover account, by submission time and signature date
- A test design submitted from a gclid-tagged URL, with the conversion visible in Google Ads diagnostics.
- The same submission from an fbclid-tagged URL, showing one deduplicated Lead event in Meta Events Manager.
- The Hover lead webhook and the browser event joined in the server container logs.
- UTMs on the Hover lead record matching the ad that was clicked.
- A signed agreement sent as a purchase, with the value taken from your contract.
- Hover leads and signatures reconciled against both ad platforms over a closed window, then rechecked 30 days later.

Hover · when not to buy
When you don't need this on Hover
Plenty of contractors use Hover in ways that never touch paid ads.
- If you only use Hover to measure roofs and walls after a lead is already booked, there's no ad conversion inside Hover to track.
- If the Design Embed isn't on your site and design links go only to existing customers, your attribution problem lives in your other lead forms.
- If you don't run Google or Meta ads to the page hosting the embed, UTMs in Hover's lead data may be all the reporting you need.
- If only a few Design Embed leads come in a month, reading the UTMs on each Hover lead by hand may be enough until volume grows.

FAQ
Hover questions, answered
Not natively, as far as Hover's docs show. It sends a submit message to your page and a webhook to your server, and we use those to fire the conversions ourselves.
The lead form runs inside Hover's embed, so a trigger watching your own page's forms never sees it submit. You need a listener for Hover's instant-design-lead-form-submitted message instead.
Hover's docs list UTM fields only, with no gclid or fbclid. The click ID has to be captured on your page when the homeowner lands and joined to the Hover lead at submit time.
Yes. Hover fires a webhook when the homeowner signs, and once we've tied that job back to its design lead, we send the sale to Google Ads and Meta against the original click, usually valued from your CRM.
No. Zapier works if Lead Convert is on, but if your account has API access, Hover's webhooks can post straight to a server container you own with no Zap in the middle.
Yes. The Design Embed covers siding, roofing, windows and paint, and Hover documents one lead-form submit event for the embed, so we check which trade your form records and can split conversions by trade.
