Clients tap Approve estimate in Invoice2go, and Google Ads is none the wiser
Invoice2go emails or texts the estimate, and the client approves and pays on Invoice2go's payment portal, a page Invoice2go gives you no documented way to put your Google tag or Meta Pixel on. Campaigns get credit for the form fill, then go blind where the money is. We connect every approval to the click behind that client and pass along what the job is worth, so spend shifts toward the handyman, upholstery and wallpaper work that pays.

Invoice2go · what breaks
Where Invoice2go leaves your ad data short
- 01
“Google says I'm getting leads. Invoice2go shows who said yes.”
Approval happens on Invoice2go's portal after the client taps View Estimate. Your ad tags never see it, so Smart Bidding keeps buying more form fills, including the ones that never turn into a yes.
- 02
“I type every client in by hand, so the ad gets lost.”
An Invoice2go client record holds name, email, phone, address and notes, but no lead source or click ID. Once you retype a caller, nothing ties that estimate to the campaign you paid for.
- 03
“A chair re-glue and a reupholstered sectional look identical to Google.”
Your ads only learn that a lead showed up, never what the approved estimate was worth, so budget flows to small furniture fixes as readily as to whole-room reupholstery jobs.
- 04
“Deposit, approval, paid invoice. Is that one sale or three?”
A deposit on an Invoice2go estimate converts it to an invoice and marks it approved by itself. Track each step separately and one swing set install counts three times.
Invoice2go · the fix
What changes once approvals flow back — Invoice2go
Campaigns graded on approved estimates
A conversion fires when an Invoice2go estimate moves to Approved, whether the client tapped it or you marked it after a phone yes.
Real job values flow back
Each approval carries its estimate total, and fully paid invoices confirm the revenue.
One job, one conversion
Deposit, auto-converted invoice and final payment roll up under the original estimate.
Invoice2go · architecture
The hooks Invoice2go really gives you
Invoice2go is built to quote and get paid from your phone, and its help center documents no marketing connection. Here's what exists.
- 1
Estimates and invoices sent as links
Emails carry a View Estimate or View Invoice button; texts, Messenger or WhatsApp messages carry a link. The client approves and pays on Invoice2go's portal, with no documented spot for your own tags.
- 2
Document statuses inside the app
Sent, Opened, Approved, Declined and Fully Paid show on each document, and paid deposits trigger an email and in-app alert. None of it reaches an ad platform.
- 3
Zapier, inbound only
The Zapier actions are Create Client and Create Item, and Invoice2go's help center says the integration doesn't export data out.
- 4
CSV export and reports
On the web app, Export data emails you a CSV of estimates, invoices, clients or appointments. Reports like Payments by Date export as CSV too.
- 5
QuickBooks and Xero sync
QuickBooks receives each invoice once it's marked fully paid, with client and item details, from the day you connect onward. Xero receives invoices as they're sent. QuickBooks gives us a second record of paid jobs.
- 6
No ad platform connection
Nothing in Invoice2go's documentation connects to Google's or Meta's ad tools. The click gets caught on your website; approvals get uploaded from the CSV or QuickBooks side.
Invoice2go · diagnose
Where Invoice2go attribution falls apart, checked in this order
The ad's fingerprint usually disappears between your website and the moment you add the client, so that's step one.
- 01
Does the gclid survive until you create the Invoice2go client?
We send a test request through a tagged ad URL, then look for any trace of that ad by the time you'd build the estimate.
- 02
Do email and phone match between the lead and Invoice2go?
They're the join keys. A client saved under a spouse's email or a mistyped mobile number breaks the match.
- 03
Which approvals did the client tap, and which did you mark?
Invoice2go lets you mark estimates Approved by hand or in bulk. Both count, if the dates and totals are right.
- 04
Is the deposit being counted as a separate sale?
A deposit converts the estimate into an invoice automatically, and only one conversion should follow.
- 05
Are recurring invoices, tips and refunds handled?
Recurring billing isn't new business, and Invoice2go Money card refunds go through its support team, so we confirm they reach your records.

Source of truth
Invoice2go's own records: the estimates export from the web app (we confirm it carries status, date, client and total) and the Payments by Date report for deposits and paid invoices, cross-checked with QuickBooks if you sync it
- A tagged test request whose gclid gets matched to the Invoice2go client created from it.
- That estimate, once approved, landing exactly one time in each of Google Ads and Meta with its dollar amount.
- A deposit on that estimate creating no second conversion when Invoice2go turns it into an invoice.
- An estimate you mark Approved by hand, picked up at the right value and date.
- Every approval over a closed month matched against both platforms, with the same audit repeated a month later.

Invoice2go · when not to buy
When Invoice2go owners can skip this
We'd rather say so up front than sell you a build you won't use.
- No Google or Meta ad spend? There's nothing to connect, and Invoice2go's Sales by Client report already shows your best customers.
- Quote a few jobs a month and know where each client came from? Type it into their Invoice2go Notes field.
- If your only paid leads come from Thumbtack, Angi or Local Services Ads, judge them in those dashboards. Invoice2go already shows which of those clients approved.
- When a field service CRM already reports closed jobs to Google Ads and Invoice2go only bills, we'd just duplicate it.

FAQ
Invoice2go questions, answered
Not one Invoice2go documents. Its help center covers QuickBooks, Xero, Zapier, and payments through Invoice2go Money, PayPal and Stripe, with nothing for Google Ads, GA4 or Meta. So the click is saved on your website and approvals are uploaded separately.
Invoice2go doesn't document any way to add your own code to its payment portal. You don't need one: the estimate total sits in your Invoice2go records, so the upload starts there.
No. Its Zapier actions only create clients and items inside Invoice2go, and nothing goes out. It's still handy for adding website leads to your client list with matching email and phone.
Usually the approved estimate at its total, because it comes soonest and shows which jobs close. Payments confirm the revenue, and the deposit never counts as a second sale.
The client tapped View Estimate or View Invoice. It's a good sign of interest, but too early to train your ads on.
Google's offline import takes click-ID conversions for up to 90 days after the click. Quotes that wait longer than that for a yes won't match, so we look at your usual approval lag first.
