Kit keeps adding subscribers. Your ads can't say which clicks sent them.
You run Instagram or Google ads to a free guide, a breathwork class waitlist or a discovery-call offer, and Kit fills up while Meta and Google report almost nothing. Kit's own Pixel field on a landing page records page views, not sign-ups, and the modal on your website has no thank-you page to measure. We send confirmed sign-ups, booked calls and sales to Google and Meta from your server, matched to the click that brought each one in.

Kit · what breaks
What goes wrong with Kit and your ads — Kit
- 01
"I pasted my Pixel ID into Kit and Meta still shows zero leads"
Kit's landing page settings take a Facebook Pixel ID, but Kit's own help says that Pixel records page views only and conversion tracking needs separate code. Meta sees visits, never sign-ups, so it optimizes for people who land and leave.
- 02
"The popup on my website works, but nothing reports it"
Kit forms embed through a JavaScript snippet as inline, modal or slide-in forms, and Kit's help notes thank-you pages are a landing page feature that forms don't have. With no confirmation URL to fire on, Google Ads and Meta have nothing to count, and your best-converting form looks like it does nothing.
- 03
"Half my new subscribers never confirm"
Double opt-in is Kit's default, and Kit says unconfirmed subscribers include bot sign-ups and people who never click the email. If your ads count the form submit, they learn from fake and abandoned sign-ups that never actually join your list.
- 04
"Freebie downloads look the same as discovery calls"
A hypnotherapist's free relaxation audio and a paid session inquiry both arrive as one more subscriber. When every opt-in counts the same, Meta hunts for cheap freebie collectors and your cost per booked client climbs.
Kit · the fix
What changes — Kit
Confirmed subscribers only, counted once
Kit's subscriber.activated webhook tells our server when someone actually confirms. That's the conversion Google and Meta get, with one shared event ID so nothing doubles.
Google Ads gets its own conversions
The click ID is captured at the form and stored on the Kit subscriber, and the hashed email goes along for enhanced conversions for leads, so Google can tie a confirmed sign-up to the ad click.
Ads bid on clients, not list size
A Kit tag like "discovery booked", the Calendly tag Kit's app adds on booking, or a Kit product sale goes back as a higher-value conversion that bidding can aim at.
Kit · architecture
What Kit actually lets you hook into — Kit
Everything below is in Kit's own help center or developer docs. Where the docs are silent, we test on your account before relying on it.
- 1
Landing page analytics settings
Each landing page takes Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, a Facebook Pixel ID, Pinterest, Segment, Fathom and SparkLoop. The Pixel is documented as page views only.
- 2
Script blocks in forms and landing pages
Kit allows a Script block in forms and landing pages for third-party tracking. Kit only documents it inside its own builder, so we confirm it also fires when the form is embedded on your site.
- 3
Webhooks with signed deliveries
Kit's v4 webhooks cover subscriber activated, joined a form, tag added or removed, unsubscribed and bounced, signed with an HMAC header and given 8 delivery attempts over about 41 hours. The v4 purchase event is still listed as planned, so sales come from Kit's v3 purchase webhook, Zapier's New Purchase trigger or Stripe.
- 4
API for subscribers, custom fields and purchases
Click IDs can be written to a subscriber custom field, and the Purchases endpoint records orders from another platform against a subscriber by email.
- 5
Audiences, not conversions
Kit's Facebook Custom Audiences sync (Pro plan) pushes Segments into Meta audiences. Kit documents it as an audience sync only, so it doesn't replace the Pixel or the Conversions API for counting sign-ups.
Kit · diagnose
Where Kit tracking breaks, in diagnostic order — Kit
Start with what Meta and Google receive on one test sign-up.
- 01
Submit a test opt-in from an ad-tagged URL
A Lead, a PageView, or nothing?
- 02
Check where the form lives
A kit.com landing page and a modal on your site need different fixes.
- 03
Compare submits with confirmations
Counting every submit puts bots in your conversion data.
- 04
Look for doubled Pixels
A Pixel ID in Kit's settings plus your site's own Pixel or Tag Manager container can report one visit twice.
- 05
Trace the click ID to the subscriber
Open the test subscriber and confirm the click ID made it onto the record.
Kit · prove
The QA evidence — Kit
Run on live forms with real email addresses that confirm, not in Kit's builder preview.
Source of truth
Kit subscriber records: confirmed subscribers by form and date, tags applied, and purchases on each subscriber
- One opt-in from an ad-tagged URL, with the click ID visible on the Kit subscriber.
- No conversion sent for a sign-up left unconfirmed.
- Each confirmed subscriber shows up once in Meta Events Manager, with the browser and server events sharing one event ID.
- A booked-call tag and a Kit product sale each arriving as their own conversion with the right value.
- A refunded Kit product sale corrected wherever the platform allows it.
- Confirmed subscribers reconciled one by one against Meta and Google Ads over a closed window.
- Repeated 30 days later and after any new form or landing page goes live.

Kit · when not to buy
When you don't need this on Kit — Kit
Some Kit accounts aren't worth a tracking build yet.
- If you don't run paid ads and your list grows from Instagram posts, podcasts or referrals, Kit's own sign-up reports are enough.
- If your Kit plan includes Insights and you only want to see which channels bring sign-ups, its acquisition dashboard already groups gclid and fbclid visits as paid, without sending anything to an ad platform.
- If every sign-up comes from one kit.com landing page and one ad platform, a GTM container firing on its thank-you page may be a small fix we'll walk you through.
- If clients book and pay in another system that never touches Kit, track that system first; the list is only the top of the funnel.

Call booked
Read from the tag Kit's Calendly app applies on booking, or from the booking tool you already use, and sent as an offline conversion.
Product or package paid

Excluded
Unconfirmed sign-ups, existing subscribers re-joining another form, unsubscribes, bounces and your own test addresses.

FAQ
Kit questions, answered
Only page views. Kit's landing page settings accept a Pixel ID, but Kit's help center says it records page views and that conversion tracking needs separate code, so Meta never sees the sign-up itself.
Not on its own; Kit's help center documents no Google Ads conversion connection. We capture the click ID at the form, store it on the subscriber and send confirmed sign-ups to Google Ads from your server, with hashed email for enhanced conversions for leads.
The confirmation. With Kit's default double opt-in, unconfirmed sign-ups include bots and people who never open the email, and you don't want Meta finding more of them.
Same product, new name. Kit landing pages now default to a kit.com address or your own custom domain, so we check that any tag, trigger or filter built around an older page address still fires.
Yes, if the booking leaves a trace in Kit, such as the Calendly tag Kit's app adds or a tag from your own automation. That booking goes back to Google and Meta as its own conversion.
It helps targeting, not measurement. It moves Kit Segments into Meta audiences on the Pro plan, and Kit documents nothing in it that reports sign-ups or sales as conversions.
