GreenSkyPayments and financing

GreenSky conversion tracking for the financed jobs your ads never get credit for

Your biggest remodels and system replacements get financed through GreenSky, but the application happens in the GreenSky app, the merchant portal or a texted link, often at the kitchen table. Google Ads and Meta saw a form fill weeks earlier and never hear about the approval or the amount. We connect each GreenSky transaction to the ad lead that started it, so bidding learns from financed jobs instead of form fills.

GreenSky · what breaks

What goes wrong when customers finance through GreenSky

  1. 01

"Our biggest jobs are financed and the ads get no credit"

The approval and the customer's transaction authorization live in GreenSky's merchant portal, not on your website. Google Ads stops at the lead, so campaigns that bring financed HVAC replacements and kitchen remodels look no better than ones that bring nothing.

  2. 02

    "Google can't tell a tune-up from a financed remodel"

Without the authorized amount, every conversion carries the same value or none. Smart bidding has no reason to chase the homeowners who finance a bathroom or a foundation repair.

  3. 03

"Declined applicants look as good as funded ones"

The form fill from a homeowner GreenSky later declines counts exactly like one from a homeowner who funds a full HVAC replacement. Meta finds more people like the declines, and your reps spend evenings on estimates that can't fund.

  4. 04

    "Staged payments inflate our numbers"

If you take progress payments on a GreenSky loan and each draw gets reported as a sale, one deck or remodel shows up as three, and your return on ad spend is fiction.

GreenSky · the fix

What changes after the fix — GreenSky

  • Ads judged on financed revenue

Each authorized GreenSky transaction lands in Google Ads and Meta against the original ad lead, at the amount the customer approved.

  • Bidding learns who actually qualifies

Approvals go back as a signal; declines and abandoned applications stay out, so targeting drifts toward homeowners who can fund the job.

  • One job, one sale

Later draws on the same loan are logged as revenue on the original conversion, never as new customers.

GreenSky · architecture

What GreenSky actually gives you to work with

GreenSky is a lending program, not a marketing tool. Its documented touchpoints are where applications start and where money moves.

  1. 1

    Merchant portal and mobile app

Staff start a New Application and submit transaction authorization requests here. Confirm what your portal lets you export, and how progress payments appear, since these records are the source of truth.

  2. 2

Send Application by text and email

The mobile app sends a prequalification or credit application link to the customer. No visit to your website happens, so the ad click has to be on the lead record already.

  3. 3

    Field service software buttons

ServiceTitan Mobile has a Financing flow, and ServiceBridge puts an Apply for Financing button on estimates that opens GreenSky in a new tab and logs Pending, Approved or Declined.

  4. 4

    No merchant-side ad integrations found

We found no documented Google Ads, GA4, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Zapier or webhook option for merchants. Partner-level loan APIs exist through payment platforms; we confirm whether your software exposes one.

  5. 5

    Your records do the sending

Conversions go to Google Ads offline import and Meta's Conversions API from your CRM or job data, matched on click ID and hashed contact details.

GreenSky · diagnose

Where GreenSky tracking breaks, in the order we check

Start at the lead, because if the click ID never reached the job record, no amount of GreenSky data can be credited to an ad.

  1. 01

Does the click ID survive to the estimate?

Submit an ad-tagged test lead and open the job in your CRM or field service software.

  2. 02

Where does the GreenSky status get recorded?

Field service software, merchant portal only, or someone's notes.

  3. 03

Do authorized transactions match ad conversions?

Line up a closed month of portal transactions against Google Ads and Meta.

  4. 04

Are resubmissions and draws counted again?

Look for one homeowner appearing twice after a typo or co-applicant resubmission, or after a second draw.

  5. 05

What value do the ad platforms receive?

Zero, a flat number, or the authorized amount.

The QA evidence on GreenSky transactions

Checked on real GreenSky transactions from your account, not on the Demo Application screen in the app.

Source of truth

GreenSky merchant portal transaction and funding records, matched to the original lead in your CRM or field service software

  • An ad-tagged test lead carried to a job record with the click ID intact.
  • An approved application tied to that existing customer, not a new lead.
  • An authorized transaction received in Google Ads and Meta at the authorized amount, with a shared event ID.
  • A Declined application absent from every ad platform.
  • A second progress draw, where your plan allows one, recorded as a value change, not a new conversion.
  • A closed month reconciled customer by customer against the portal, then again 30 days later.

GreenSky · when not to buy

When you don't need this for GreenSky

GreenSky tracking only pays off when financed tickets are a real share of what your ads sell.

  • If financed jobs are a small slice of your revenue, track paid invoices from your field service software and leave GreenSky out of it.
  • If your leads come from a manufacturer sponsor program or home shows rather than Google or Meta ads, there's no click to credit.
  • If your software already sends job revenue, GreenSky-paid invoices included, to Google Ads and it reconciles with the portal, keep it.
  • If what you want is a financing banner or approved ad copy, that's GreenSky's marketing team through your rep, not a tracking project.

GreenSky · what we deliver

The event map for GreenSky-financed jobs

  • Ad lead captured

Form or tracked call, with GCLID, fbclid and UTMs stored on the record in your CRM or field service software.

  • Estimate presented with financing

The in-home or showroom visit where GreenSky is offered, sent as a qualified-lead signal.

  • GreenSky application approved

Matched to the same customer, never as a new lead. Pending is held; Declined is excluded.

  • Transaction authorized

The money conversion, valued at the amount the customer authorized by text, email or phone.

  • Funding received

Confirmed against the merchant portal; any progress draws after the first adjust value instead of adding conversions.

  • Refunds, voids and resubmissions

Refunds and voids reversed at every destination; a resubmitted application for a typo or co-applicant is not counted twice.

FAQ

GreenSky questions, answered

Not that we could find. GreenSky's merchant materials document no Google Ads, GA4, Tag Manager or Meta Pixel connection, so conversions have to come from your own records: the original lead's click ID plus the GreenSky outcome.
