Conversion tracking when patients book you on Sesame
Sesame is a marketplace. Patients find a clinician on sesamecare.com and book and pay there, on Sesame's pages rather than yours. We found no documented widget, pixel field or webhook for practices; the only outbound program Sesame links to is an affiliate scheme run through impact.com. If you list on Sesame and also run ads, the honest job is keeping Sesame bookings and your own-site bookings apart, not pretending a pixel can follow a patient into someone else's marketplace.

Sesame · what breaks
What goes wrong for practices listed on Sesame
- 01
Ads pointed at your Sesame profile
The booking happens on Sesame's site. Your pixel is not there and, as far as we can find, cannot be.
- 02
Two booking systems, one set of ad numbers
Practices that also book on their own site often cannot say which of the two an ad actually fed.
- 03
The visit type is health information
Sesame lists services like mental health and weight loss. The service alone can reveal a condition and must never go to Meta or Google.
- 04
An affiliate link mistaken for tracking
The impact.com program pays for referrals into Sesame. It is not documented as a way for a practice to see its own conversion data.
Sesame · the fix
What changes — Sesame
Own-site bookings tracked properly
Server-side, with no service, condition or appointment details.
Sesame treated as a reported channel
Counted from your provider account, not forced into pixel data.
A real answer on where ad spend should point
Your own booking page or your listing, compared on bookings that happened.
Sesame · architecture
What Sesame actually lets you do
Sesame publishes nothing about practice-side tracking that we could verify. Treat each item as something to check in your provider account.
- 1
Booking and payment on sesamecare.com
Patients complete the whole booking inside Sesame's marketplace.
- 2
Check whether your provider account shows bookings by source
If it does not, Sesame bookings cannot be tied to your ads in any form.
- 3
Check whether a booking link or widget exists for your own site
None is documented publicly.
- 4
An affiliate program through impact.com
Linked from Sesame's site. Read its terms before assuming it applies to a listed practice.
- 5
No pixel or webhook documented
Plan as though Sesame sends nothing to your ad accounts.
Sesame · diagnose
Where Sesame tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
Most of the diagnosis here is deciding what can be measured at all, and what must not be.
- 01
Find out where your ads actually send people
Your Sesame profile, your own site, or a mix.
- 02
Look for condition-revealing data in your current tags
Page URLs, event names and parameters all count.
- 03
Count Sesame bookings against own-site bookings for one month
That is your channel split.
- 04
Check your provider dashboard for any source detail
It decides whether Sesame can be attributed at all.
- 05
Check own-site conversions fire on confirmed appointments
Not on a page load or a button click.
Sesame · prove
The QA evidence — Sesame
Run on your own booking path with a real appointment, and on your Sesame provider account as it stands.
Source of truth
Your own scheduler's confirmed appointments, with Sesame provider-account bookings kept as a separate channel
- An own-site appointment booked from a tagged link and shown to reach each platform without service or condition details.
- Event names, URLs and parameters reviewed line by line for anything health-related.
- A click to your Sesame profile shown to be recorded as an outbound click only.
- Own-site appointments matched one at a time against each platform.
- Sesame bookings counted from the provider account and kept out of ad conversions.
- A closed window reconciled.
- Rechecked 30 days later.

Sesame · when not to buy
When you don't need this on Sesame
For many listed practices the right answer is a spreadsheet, not a build.
- If every patient from your ads books through Sesame and you have no booking page of your own, there is nothing on your side to build; compare spend against Sesame bookings by hand.
- If Sesame is your discovery channel and you run no ads, its own reporting is all you need.
- If your own booking path already runs through a HIPAA-conscious server-side setup, this is a short review rather than a build.

FAQ
Sesame questions, answered
Not that we can find. Sesame documents no pixel or tracking field for practices, so assume you cannot.
We advise against it. A patient list tied to a healthcare marketplace is exactly the kind of data HIPAA restricts, and ad platforms don't sign BAAs. Keep Sesame as a reported channel.
It limits what can be sent. No services, conditions or appointment details go to ad platforms; a generic confirmed-appointment event can, server-side, with the details settled with your compliance counsel.
Your own site is the only one you can measure. If Sesame converts better, the comparison has to come from bookings counted in both systems.
It runs through impact.com and pays for referrals to Sesame. It is not a conversion feed for your practice; check its terms directly.
