OpenbayDirectories and marketplaces

Openbay cars and ad cars look the same in your reports. Give every repair order one source.

A driver compares quotes on openbay.com, books your bay and shows up for a brake job. Your Google Ads and Meta accounts never see that booking, and if the same driver clicked one of your ads last week, nobody can say which channel earned the car. We mark Openbay work in your shop management system, keep it out of what your ad accounts learn from, and send Google and Meta only the paid repair orders your ads actually won.

Openbay · what breaks

What goes wrong when Openbay sends you cars

  1. 01

"Openbay says it sent us jobs, but I can't see them in our reports"

The quote and booking happen on openbay.com, so your GA4, Google tag and Meta Pixel never fire. Unless the counter keys each Openbay car in with its own source, those jobs blend into your RO list and you can't weigh Openbay against your ad spend.

  2. 02

"Google Ads is getting credit for a car Openbay booked"

Upload every paid RO with a phone or email match, and an Openbay customer who clicked one of your ads weeks earlier can count as an ad conversion. Smart Bidding then hunts for more drivers who book through a marketplace, and your campaign takes credit for a transmission flush it didn't win.

  3. 03

"The counter marks everything as 'repeat' or 'Google'"

If Openbay bookings get keyed in as walk-ins or regular phone appointments, your source report is wrong before any tracking runs, and every cost-per-car number built on it inherits the error.

  4. 04

"I don't know if Openbay jobs are worth it"

A job you won by quoting against nearby shops and a diagnostic visit from your own ad can carry very different margins. Without paid RO totals by source, you can't decide where the next marketing dollar goes.

Openbay · the fix

What changes after we fix it — Openbay

  • Every car has one source

Openbay, Google Ads, Meta, Google Business Profile and repeat customers each get their own tag on the RO, so no job is claimed twice.

  • Your ad accounts learn from ad customers only

Google Ads and Meta receive paid repair orders from people who clicked or called from an ad, at the real invoice, with Openbay excluded.

  • A cost-per-paid-RO number for each channel

Openbay sits in the same monthly table as your campaigns, using what each car actually cost you.

Openbay · architecture

What you can actually hook into with Openbay

We found no Openbay documentation for a shop-side tag, pixel, webhook or export, so the build runs on your shop system and your own site, and anything on Openbay's side is checked inside your shop account.

  1. 1

Your shop management system is the record

The paid RO, its invoice total and the source your team selects are what we report on and upload from.

  2. 2

Check what Openbay hands you per booking

Confirm in your Openbay shop account how bookings arrive and whether any export or report lets us tag them without retyping.

  3. 3

    Google Ads offline conversion import

Google documents uploading a paid sale with the saved GCLID, or with hashed customer details through enhanced conversions for leads. Google began moving these uploads to its Data Manager API on June 15, 2026.

  4. 4

    Meta Conversions API

Meta accepts server events with an action source of physical_store or phone_call, which fits a paid RO from a Meta ad customer.

  5. 5

Google forwarding numbers or your own call tracking

Google documents website call conversions through forwarding numbers that replace your number on your site, and importing calls when another system knows which ones turned into paid work.

Openbay · diagnose

Where tracking breaks at a shop taking Openbay jobs, in the order we check

Start at the counter: with marketplace jobs, the usual fault is credit going to the wrong channel, not a missing tag.

  1. 01

How an Openbay booking gets entered

We watch one get keyed in and check the source on the RO.

  2. 02

Whether Openbay customers sit in your ad uploads

Last month's Google Ads imports and Meta events, checked against Openbay ROs.

  3. 03

Which phone number your Openbay listing shows

If it's a tracking or forwarding number you also use for ads, Openbay customers' calls get counted as ad calls.

  4. 04

Whether bookings on your own site keep the click ID

One test booking from an ad-tagged URL, then we open the customer record.

  5. 05

Whether paid RO value reaches each platform

Invoice totals, not a flat lead value, with declined work left out.

Source of truth

Your shop management system's paid repair orders with the source on each RO, plus the bookings listed in your Openbay shop account

  • Every Openbay booking found as an RO tagged Openbay.
  • Zero Openbay ROs in Google Ads imports or Meta Conversions API events.
  • A test booking from an ad-tagged URL with the click ID on the customer record.
  • A test call to the ad number logged as an ad call, not Openbay.
  • Paid ad-sourced ROs matched one by one to Google Ads and Meta at invoice value.
  • Cost per paid RO for Openbay, Google Ads and Meta for the same month.
  • Rerun on the next closed month, and again whenever your shop software or phone setup changes.

Openbay · when not to buy

When you don't need this for Openbay

Some shops need a 15-minute talk with the front counter, not a build.

  • If you don't run Google Ads or Meta, there's no ad account to protect. Add an Openbay source to your ROs and review it monthly.
  • If Openbay sends you a handful of cars a month, correct tagging at the counter is enough; the overlap won't move bidding.
  • If your ad accounts only count website bookings and never import ROs or match phone numbers, Openbay jobs can't leak in.
  • If you're dropping Openbay anyway, put the effort into tracking your own site and calls.

Openbay · what we deliver

The event map for a shop that takes Openbay jobs

  • Ad visit and click ID saved

GCLID, fbclid and UTMs stored with the customer when they book or call from your site. Openbay visits never touch your site.

  • Lead from your site or ad call

Bookings on your domain and calls to a tracking number. Openbay quote requests aren't counted here.

  • Openbay booking logged

Tagged Openbay in your shop system for reporting only, never sent to Google Ads or Meta.

  • Car checked in

Kept appointments by source, so each channel's no-shows are visible.

  • Repair order paid

The real conversion, at the invoice total, sent for ad-sourced customers only.

  • Declined work and comebacks

Declined estimates and warranty comebacks carry no value; repeat visits from Openbay customers stay tagged Openbay.
