Your Klaviyo popup signs people up every day. Google Ads still says zero conversions.
You pay for clicks to a free-class or coupon popup, Klaviyo fills up with subscribers, and Google Ads and Meta see nothing, or count one sign-up twice. Klaviyo forms don't reach GA4 until someone adds its listener snippet, and its Google Ads and Meta connections push audiences out without sending results back. We tie each submit to its ad click, count the email and SMS steps as one lead, and send the bookings that follow back to Google and Meta from your own server.

Klaviyo · what breaks
What goes wrong when your ads feed Klaviyo
- 01
"Google Ads shows nothing from my sign-up popup"
A Klaviyo form fires a browser event on submit, but nothing reaches GA4, and so nothing reaches Google Ads, unless Klaviyo's listener runs on a page where the Google tag is already set up. Bidding gets no sign-ups to learn from, so you keep paying for clicks with no way to tell which ones filled your list.
- 02
"One sign-up shows up as two leads"
Klaviyo documents that its GA4 snippet sends one form_submit for the email step and another for the SMS step. Import that into Google Ads and cost per lead looks half its real size.
- 03
"Klaviyo says the welcome email made the sale. So does Facebook."
By default Klaviyo gives last-touch credit for a purchase within five days of an email open or click, and Ads Manager can report that same purchase for the ad. A barre client who clicked an ad, joined the list and bought a class pack gets claimed twice, and your real return on ad spend is anyone's guess.
- 04
"Facebook keeps finding people who join the list and never book"
Klaviyo's Meta connection pulls Lead Ads sign-ups in and pushes segments out as custom audiences. Nothing in its docs sends Meta who actually booked, so your campaigns keep optimizing for whoever fills in a form, and the day spa or waxing studio paying for them gets list growth instead of appointments.
Klaviyo · the fix
What changes — Klaviyo
Google Ads learns from real sign-ups
One conversion per person from Klaviyo's once-per-form submit event, with the click ID read on your own domain.
Bookings train the bidding, not subscribers
Booked Class, Activated Membership and order values recorded in Klaviyo reach Meta and Google through a server container on your subdomain.
A clear rule for whose number to trust
Klaviyo's attributed revenue judges your flows, the ad platforms judge acquisition, and both are checked against your booking records.
Klaviyo · architecture
What Klaviyo actually lets you hook into
All of this comes from Klaviyo's help center and developer docs. Where they're silent, we test on your account.
- 1
Browser events from every form
Klaviyo fires open, embedOpen, close, redirectedToUrl, submit and stepSubmit. Submit fires once per form and passes the form ID with the email and phone entered.
- 2
A GA4 snippet, not a Google Ads tag
It needs gtag already on the page, sends form events to GA4 and never mentions Google Ads.
- 3
Hidden fields documented as fixed values
Klaviyo's docs only describe typing a property and value in the editor, nothing dynamic, so we don't rely on them to carry a GCLID.
- 4
Flow webhooks
A flow can POST JSON to an HTTPS endpoint when a metric such as Booked Class fires, once the action is Live. Only Managers, Admins or Owners with two-step login can add one.
- 5
Ad integrations that sync audiences
Customer Match lists to Google Ads, custom audiences to Meta, and Lead Ads sign-ups back in. No conversion sending is documented.
- 6
Hosted Landing Pages
Klaviyo reports views and submits there, but its docs don't say whether a Pixel or Google tag can run, so we confirm before ads point at one.
Klaviyo · diagnose
Where Klaviyo tracking breaks, in the order we check
Start with counting, because on Klaviyo the usual fault is one person reported twice or not at all.
- 01
Submit a two-step form once and count events
Email then phone should be one lead, not two.
- 02
Check gtag loads before Klaviyo's listener
Klaviyo's snippet needs gtag defined before a form event fires. If a tag manager loads the Google tag later, those sign-ups never reach GA4.
- 03
Look for the click ID after an ad-tagged sign-up
Submit from a link carrying a test GCLID and confirm it reached the server event.
- 04
Compare Klaviyo submits with GA4
Klaviyo has filtered bot and crawler activity out of form analytics since April 2025. If GA4 shows far more submits, check for bot sign-ups before they reach your bidding.
- 05
Compare attribution windows
Klaviyo's five-day open and click windows against the attribution settings in your Meta and Google accounts explain most of the overlap.
- 06
Check bookings carry the same email
Mindbody events reach Klaviyo only for clients with a valid email, so a mismatched address breaks the chain.

The QA evidence — Klaviyo
Run on your live site from a real ad-tagged link, not in Klaviyo's form preview.
Source of truth
Klaviyo profiles and form submissions, matched by email to bookings, memberships and orders in Mindbody or your booking system
- One two-step sign-up producing exactly one lead in Google Ads and one in Meta, sharing an event ID.
- The click ID present on that sign-up's server event.
- A test booking posted by the flow webhook and visible in both ad platforms.
- A cancelled class withheld or reversed.
- Keyword opt-ins and Lead Ads entries absent from the acquisition conversion.
- Every sign-up and booking in a finished week paired with its ad-platform conversion, and the pairing repeated a month later.

Klaviyo · when not to buy
When your Klaviyo setup can stay as it is
Plenty of Klaviyo accounts are fine as they are.
- If you only email existing clients and no ad traffic lands on a Klaviyo form, there is nothing to attribute.
- If most opt-ins come from a JOIN keyword on front-desk signage, there is no ad click to match, and Klaviyo's own reports tell you enough.
- If Klaviyo sits on a Shopify store and the conversions are online orders, it's an order-reconciliation job, which our Klaviyo and Shopify page covers.
- If the only fault is the GA4 snippet sending a second form_submit for the SMS step, setting that Google Ads conversion to count one per click may be all you need, and we'll tell you so.
Klaviyo · what we deliver
The event map on Klaviyo
Form shown
Klaviyo's open and embedOpen events, kept for offer testing and never used as a conversion.
Sign-up submitted
One event per form from the submit signal, carrying the click ID and hashed email and phone. Step-by-step submits stay out of bidding.
New subscriber, not a returning client
Checked against existing profiles, so a regular grabbing the coupon doesn't count as a new lead.
Booked
Booked Class or Scheduled Appointment from Mindbody, or the booking from your own scheduler, sent server-side.
Paid
Activated Membership, Created Contract or Placed Order, sent with its real value.
Excluded or reversed
Text-to-join keyword opt-ins with no click to match, Lead Ads entries Meta already counted, and cancelled classes or appointments.
Written guarantee
95%+ tracking accuracy
Measured against Klaviyo profiles and form submissions, matched by email to bookings, memberships and orders in Mindbody or your booking system. Miss it and we keep working at no cost.

FAQ
Klaviyo questions, answered
No. Klaviyo's Google Ads integration syncs lists and segments into Customer Match audiences. Conversions have to come from GA4 form events imported into Google Ads or, better, from a server container.
Klaviyo's Meta docs cover audience sync and Lead Ads sync, not the Conversions API. We send sign-ups, bookings and purchases through CAPI, fed by Klaviyo's submit event and flow webhooks.
Klaviyo's GA4 snippet sends a form_submit for each subscription step, so email plus SMS counts twice. Base the conversion on Klaviyo's once-per-form submit event instead.
Not reliably. Klaviyo documents hidden fields as fixed values entered in the form editor, with no option for URL parameters. We read the click ID from the page with a listener and send it with the sign-up.
Klaviyo defaults to last touch with five-day email open and click windows, Meta credits its ads under its own attribution setting, and both can claim one purchase. We set which number answers which question: Klaviyo for flows, the ad platforms for acquisition.
Ones that send ad traffic straight into a Klaviyo popup: Pilates and barre studios, day spas, waxing studios, cryotherapy studios, trampoline parks, ski schools, jewelers and meal-prep delivery.
