Conversion tracking when your classes are booked on ClassPass

ClassPass is not a widget on your website. The reservation happens inside the ClassPass app or site, under their account, and none of your tags are present when it does. So the real tracking question for a studio is different from every other scheduler: which of your ad dollars produce direct members, and which ClassPass visitors later convert to your own intro offer or membership.

The problem

Where studios on ClassPass lose the thread

ClassPass-specific issues
Leak #01

Your ads get credit for marketplace traffic

Someone sees your Instagram ad, then books you through the ClassPass app. Your pixel never sees it, but a lift in visits gets read as ad performance.

Leak #02

ClassPass visits valued like direct sales

A marketplace visit pays the studio a ClassPass rate, not your drop-in price. Blending the two overstates revenue per booking.

Leak #03

No line from first ClassPass visit to membership

The conversion that matters — a ClassPass user buying your own package — happens weeks later in your studio software, with no link back.

Leak #04

Direct-booking ads judged on total attendance

Class counts include ClassPass users, so a campaign looks busier than the direct demand it actually created.

Architecture

What ClassPass actually lets you do

We have not verified ClassPass's partner documentation, so these are the checks we run before promising anything.

  1. Step 1

Check whether any tag of yours can run on your ClassPass listing

Assume it cannot until shown otherwise. A marketplace page is theirs, not yours.

  2. Step 2

Check what the partner reporting exports

Whether reservations come out with dates, class names and client identifiers you can match against.

  3. Step 3

Check how reservations reach your studio software

If they sync into your scheduler, that record is where the ClassPass source gets tagged.

  4. Step 4

Check what client contact data you receive

Whether you get enough to recognize the same person when they later buy direct.

  5. Step 5

Treat ClassPass as a channel, not a conversion source

Whatever the checks show, nothing here sends conversions to Meta or Google on your behalf.

Diagnostic sequence

Where ClassPass studio tracking breaks, in diagnostic order

Most of this is separation work. Each check removes one source of false credit.

  1. 1

Find out what share of visits come through ClassPass

From attendance records, not estimates. It sets the size of every other problem.

  2. 2

Check whether direct purchases fire a conversion at all

On your own booking flow, with a real intro-offer purchase.

  3. 3

Look for ClassPass revenue inside your ad-reported value

If total studio revenue is the conversion value, the marketplace is inflating it.

  4. 4

Match ClassPass first-timers to later direct purchases

By email or name in your client list. This is usually where the hidden value is.

  5. 5

Check whether ads are targeting people already on ClassPass

Retargeting your own class attendees can just push them to book through the app.

Source-of-truth validation

The QA evidence

Run on your studio's own records, because ClassPass's side is not something we can instrument.

Source of truthYour studio software's sales and attendance records, split by booking source
  • A direct intro-offer purchase tracked end to end with the identifier on the record.
  • ClassPass visits confirmed absent from every ad-platform conversion.
  • Direct revenue reconciled per sale against what each platform reports.
  • ClassPass-to-member conversions listed by name, with first-visit and purchase dates.
  • Marketplace share of attendance stated for the window.
  • A closed month compared sale by sale, never as two totals side by side.
  • A second pass a month on, and again whenever ClassPass changes how reservations sync.

Straight talk

When you don't need this on ClassPass

Plenty of studios should skip it.

  • If you don't run paid ads and ClassPass is simply a fill-the-empty-spots tool, there is nothing to attribute.
  • If ClassPass is a small slice of attendance, fixing tracking on your own booking flow matters far more.
  • If you can't get usable client records out of ClassPass or your scheduler, a conversion bridge isn't possible and we will tell you so on the call.
  • Counting how many ClassPass users bought a package last quarter is a spreadsheet job. You may not need us for it.

Who this is for

Honest about who we’re a fit for.

We don’t take every project. Here’s how to tell if we’re right for you.

Good fit

You’re a great fit if…

  • You run ClassPass (or are migrating to it)
  • You spend $5K+/month on paid ads (Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn)
  • Your reported ROAS doesn’t match what your bank account is saying
  • You want to own your tracking stack — no monthly SaaS fees forever
  • You have 2–4 days to do this once and never think about it again
Not a fit

Skip us if…

  • You spend less than $500/month on paid ads (browser pixel is fine)
  • You want a SaaS dashboard with monthly fees forever (Triple Whale, Hyros)
  • You need attribution modeling — we fix the data foundation, not multi-touch reports
  • You want a 6-month enterprise consulting engagement (we ship in 4 days)
  • You expect us to manage your ad accounts (we don’t — that’s a different service)

If you’re still unsure, book the call anyway— we’ll tell you straight whether we can help.

Intro offers and memberships sold on your own booking system.

Got questions?

The honestanswers.

No buzzwords, no upsell. If we don’t know, we say so.

01Can we put our Meta pixel on ClassPass?

We have not seen anything that allows it, and you should assume not. The booking is on ClassPass's property, so your ads can only be judged on what happens on your own booking flow.

02Should ClassPass bookings count as ad conversions?

No. They are a marketplace channel with their own economics. Sending them to Meta or Google teaches the algorithm to chase people who were going to book through an app anyway.

03How do we know if ClassPass users become members?

Match them in your studio software: first visit tagged as ClassPass, later purchase on your own system. That conversion can then be reported, and if it's frequent, used as an offline signal.

04Is our studio revenue in Google Ads too high?

If the conversion value comes from total sales, probably. ClassPass payouts and direct sales need to be split before any value reaches an ad platform.

05Do you need access to our ClassPass account?

Only to read reporting, if it exports what we need. Most of the work happens in your own booking system and ad accounts.
