Conversion tracking for Arketa studios
Arketa gives studios a GTM ID field and sends Checkout, Purchase, Booking success and Subscribe events from its own hosted booking pages, which is more than many studio platforms offer. The catch is in the detail: for accounts created after June 2023, Arketa says Purchase no longer carries item details from Stripe, so an intro pack and a membership look the same in the event. Studios that embed Arketa pricing in an iframe lose the cookies on top of that.

Arketa · what breaks
What goes wrong for studios on Arketa
- 01
Pricing embedded in an iframe
Arketa itself advises against it, because the cookies ads depend on do not come through.
- 02
Purchase events with no item detail
On newer Arketa accounts the event can't tell an intro class from a membership.
- 03
Booking success treated as a sale
A class booked on an existing pack is not new revenue, and counting it inflates results.
- 04
Members booking their weekly class
Regulars who already pay are not acquisition.
Arketa · the fix
What a rebuilt Arketa setup reports
Intro offer purchased as the acquisition event
Valued at the offer price and identified by something other than the missing item detail.
Membership starts counted on their own
From Subscribe, at the membership's value.
Member bookings kept out of ad optimization
So weekly regulars don't make retargeting look brilliant.
Arketa · architecture
What Arketa actually lets you do
Arketa documents its Google integration clearly. Meta is where the documentation goes quiet.
- 1
GA4 Measurement ID field
Required for the integration; loads GA4 across Arketa's booking pages.
- 2
GTM ID and Header Code fields
Your own container or snippet on Arketa's hosted pages, which is where Google Ads conversion tags go.
- 3
Five standard events
Page View, Checkout, Purchase, Booking success and Subscribe, fired as clients move through booking.
- 4
Purchase without item details on newer accounts
Arketa says Stripe stopped passing them for accounts created after June 2023, and plans to restore them.
- 5
Check how a Meta Pixel is supported
Arketa's Google article points elsewhere for other pixels; confirm on your account before building on it.
Arketa · diagnose
Finding the Arketa leak, one check at a time
Arketa tracking usually half-works, which makes it harder to spot than tracking that is plainly broken.
- 01
Look for iframe embeds of Arketa pricing
If you find one, that is the first fix, before anything else.
- 02
Buy an intro offer and inspect the Purchase event
See whether product or value data is present on your account.
- 03
Check which event Google Ads optimizes on
Booking success and Purchase lead to very different bidding.
- 04
Compare new memberships to Subscribe events
A gap usually means memberships sold at the front desk.
- 05
Measure how many bookings come from existing members
That share is how much of the reported booking volume is not acquisition at all.

Source of truth
Arketa's sales and membership records: new clients by product and date
- An intro offer bought through Arketa's hosted checkout, with the conversion and its value confirmed.
- A membership subscription confirmed to send Subscribe at the plan value.
- No iframe embed of pricing left anywhere on the website.
- Member class bookings confirmed absent from the acquisition conversion.
- A refund confirmed to reverse the sale it belongs to.
- Each intro and membership sale in a finished month matched to its platform conversion.
- Repeated 30 days later and after Arketa changes how Purchase is populated.

Arketa · when not to buy
When you don't need this on Arketa
Arketa's built-in fields solve more than most studio platforms do. Read this first.
- If you advertise on Google only and Purchase still shows item detail when you test it on your account, the native GA4 and GTM fields may be sufficient.
- If you sell a single intro offer, the missing product detail matters far less.
- If new clients mostly arrive from walk-ins or third-party class marketplaces, studio ad tracking covers a small slice of them.
- If someone on your team knows GTM, adding Google Ads tags through Arketa's GTM field is a modest job. We will say if that is all it takes.

FAQ
Arketa questions, answered
Yes. There is a GTM ID field alongside the GA4 field and a Header Code field, and they apply to Arketa's hosted booking pages.
Arketa advises against it because the iframe blocks the cookies conversion tracking relies on. Link to the hosted checkout instead.
For accounts created after June 2023, Arketa says Stripe no longer passes item details to the Purchase event. Products have to be told apart another way until that is restored.
Its Google documentation doesn't cover Meta, so check the integrations page on your account. Either way, Meta conversions are better sent server-side from your sales records.
Purchases of intro offers and memberships. Most class bookings come from existing members and teach the ad platform nothing about finding new ones.
