Bark conversion tracking: stop guessing whether Bark credits or your ads win the jobs

You buy Bark leads with credits, you run Google or Meta ads, and every new customer lands in the same phone, inbox and CRM. Nobody can say which channel booked last month's handyman jobs, office cleaning contracts or DJ bookings, and if your CRM feeds conversions back to the ad platforms, Bark customers may be counted as ad wins. We label Bark leads from the moment you pay to respond, keep them out of what your campaigns learn from, and show cost per hired job for Bark next to Google and Meta.

Bark · what breaks

What goes wrong when Bark and your ads feed the same pipeline

  1. 01

"I spend on Bark and Google and can't tell which one pays"

Bark charges credits per contact, Google charges per click, and both leads land in one inbox. Without a source on each customer, you can't compare what a hired job costs on either, so budget follows gut feel.

  2. 02

"Meta says my ads got me customers I know came from Bark"

If your CRM pushes every new contact to Meta, a Bark customer who once scrolled past your ad can be matched by email or phone and reported as an ad result. Meta then learns from people your ads didn't find.

  3. 03

"Bark customers check my site, then my ads take the credit"

Bark tells customers to check pros' websites before choosing. When that customer calls from your site or gets retargeted, your tracking can log a Bark job as a Google or Meta conversion.

  4. 04

"We win jobs from Bark, but my reports never show it"

Whether a Bark lead turned into a hired job usually lives in your Bark dashboard or someone's head. Your ad reports never see it, so Bark looks like pure credit spend and your ads look better than they are.

Bark · the fix

What changes once Bark is separated

  • A clean cost per hired job by channel

Bark credits and Google and Meta spend, each divided by the jobs they produced, in one monthly view.

  • Campaigns that learn only from ad customers

Offline conversions sent to Google Ads and Meta come only from leads with a captured ad click or lead ID; Bark records are filtered out first.

  • Budget decisions you can defend

You see whether another Bark credit pack or another week of Google Ads books more of the jobs you want.

Bark · architecture

What Bark actually lets you hook into

A Bark lead is created on Bark, not on your site, so there's no place for your tags. What's left is what happens after you pay to respond.

  1. 1

Contact details after you pay to respond

Bark says paying to respond gives you the customer's phone number and email, with free follow-ups through Bark. That's where the lead enters your systems.

  2. 2

    Zapier triggers

Bark's Zapier listing shows New Bark, New Purchased Bark and New Review triggers. New Purchased Bark is the one we use to create a Bark-labeled record in your CRM.

  3. 3

    Zapier actions, including hired status

The same listing has actions to set a note or quote on a purchased Bark and to update its status to live, archived or hired. So a job marked won in your CRM can be marked hired in Bark too; we confirm whether your setup can read that status back out.

  4. 4

No tag, pixel or click ID

We found no documented way to place a Google tag, Meta Pixel or Tag Manager container on Bark, and no ad click ID comes with a Bark lead. Confirm whether your account shows anything different.

  5. 5

Your profile's link to your website

Bark tells customers to check pros' profiles, reviews and websites. We check whether your profile links to your site and, if Bark lets you edit that link, add UTM tags so those visits show as Bark in GA4.

Bark · diagnose

Where Bark muddies your ad tracking, in the order we check

We start with what reaches the ad platforms, because a Bark customer counted as an ad win does more harm than an unlabeled one.

  1. 01

Check what your CRM sends to Meta and Google

Look for any sync that uploads all new contacts or all jobs, regardless of source.

  2. 02

Check whether Bark leads carry a source

Open five recent Bark customers in your CRM and see what the source field says.

  3. 03

    Test the website path

Click through from your Bark profile and confirm GA4 shows Bark, not direct or Google.

  4. 04

    Check where hired status lives

Confirm whether your team marks jobs hired in Bark, in your CRM, or nowhere.

  5. 05

Line up credits spent with jobs won

Credits from your Bark account against hired jobs over the same closed month.

Bark · prove

How we prove Bark and your ads are counted separately

Tested on real Bark leads you've paid for and real ad leads from the same weeks.

Source of truth

Your Bark dashboard's purchased leads with their hired status and credits spent, matched to the hired and paid jobs in your CRM or field service software

  • The same Bark record is confirmed absent from the next Google Ads and Meta offline upload.
  • A test form from an ad-tagged URL lands in the CRM with its Google click ID stored.
  • A click from your Bark profile to your website reported as Bark in GA4.
  • A Bark job marked won in your CRM shows as hired in Bark and in the monthly cost-per-hired-job report.
  • A closed month of hired jobs matched by source against Bark credits, Google Ads and Meta.
  • Rerun a month later, and again after any change to your Zapier steps or CRM.

Bark · when not to buy

When you don't need this for Bark

Some Bark users need a habit, not a project.

  • If Bark is your only paid lead source, mark jobs hired in Bark and compare them with credits spent. That's enough.
  • If your CRM sends nothing back to the ad platforms, Bark can't pollute your campaigns. A source field on each job may do.
  • If you buy a handful of Bark leads a month, a spreadsheet column beats an integration.
  • If you're still inside your first credit pack, judge Bark on the jobs it books before spending on tracking it.

Bark · what we deliver

The event map when you run Bark next to ads

  • Bark lead purchased

Logged in your CRM through Bark's New Purchased Bark trigger in Zapier, source fixed as Bark. Never sent to an ad platform.

  • Bark quote sent

Recorded from your CRM or Bark notes so quote rate can be compared with ad leads.

  • Ad lead captured

A form or call from your own site or ads, stored with the Google click ID or Meta lead ID.

  • Qualified ad lead

Sent back to Google Ads and Meta only for ad-sourced records; Bark records and spam excluded.

  • Job hired

Marked won in your CRM or field software for every lead; Bark wins also set to hired in Bark through Zapier, so both channels are counted the same way.

  • Job paid

Revenue on ad-sourced jobs uploaded as a value; Bark revenue kept in your own report for the credit comparison.
