AnswerConnect picks up the calls your ads pay for. Google Ads can't see which ones became jobs.
AnswerConnect's receptionists answer your forwarded calls and send the message to your app, but Google Ads only knows a phone rang. It can't tell a burst-pipe emergency from a vendor pitch, so it keeps bidding for both. We put call tracking in front of your forwarding, tie each AnswerConnect message to its ad click, and send the jobs you booked and got paid for to Google Ads and Meta.

AnswerConnect · what breaks
What goes wrong when AnswerConnect answers your ad calls
- 01
Google counts every call my receptionist picks up
Google grades a call conversion by how long it ran, or by its own AI read of the recording if you switch that on. Neither sees the message AnswerConnect's receptionist took, so a long call about an old invoice can score like a new no-water job, and bidding learns from both.
- 02
The message shows up in my app, the ad click doesn't
AnswerConnect sends the caller's name, number and notes by app, SMS or email, and into tools like Workiz, ServiceMinder or HubSpot. None of it says which campaign or keyword made the phone ring.
- 03
Website chats never reach my ad reports
AnswerConnect Live Chat runs from its own code snippet, staffed by its receptionists, and its help pages describe no Google Ads, GA4 or Meta event. A chat that becomes a towing dispatch is invisible to the campaign that paid for the visit.
- 04
I can't tell which ads book jobs
Plumbers, locksmiths, towing companies and emergency dentists hand AnswerConnect their after-hours calls. With no paid jobs coming back from those messages, Google and Meta can't tell the 2 a.m. lockout that paid from the caller who hung up at the price, so you keep paying for more of both.
AnswerConnect · the fix
What changes after we fix it — AnswerConnect
Each forwarded call tied to its click
Tracking numbers record the visit before the call reaches AnswerConnect, so each message from a tracked call matches its campaign and keyword.
Bidding trained on real jobs
Google Ads and Meta receive paid jobs with their value instead of every call your receptionists connected.
Cost per booked job by campaign
From ad spend to paid invoice, including after-hours calls and chats AnswerConnect handled.
AnswerConnect · architecture
What AnswerConnect actually lets you hook into
From AnswerConnect's own integration and help pages. Anything undocumented is listed as something we confirm.
- 1
Call forwarding into AnswerConnect
Documented as automated (on a schedule), find-me (you're tried first) and manual. Calls arrive from your existing line, so the click has to be caught before that hand-off.
- 2
Message notifications and records
Messages arrive by app, SMS or email, and AnswerConnect keeps a record of every call and chat, with call playback. That log is what we reconcile against.
- 3
Native app integrations
AnswerConnect lists tools including Workiz, ServiceMinder, Thryv, HubSpot, Salesforce and Clio, plus Google Sheets for call data in real time.
- 4
Zapier
The AnswerConnect app on Zapier has one trigger, New Message, and one action, Create Contact. That trigger is the cleanest feed for qualifying calls.
- 5
Google Analytics push
AnswerConnect's help center says it can push call data to Google Analytics but doesn't document the events or fields. We confirm what it sends before anything relies on it.
- 6
No documented API, webhooks or ad-platform link
Nothing in AnswerConnect's docs sends conversions to Google Ads or Meta, so money events come from your records.
AnswerConnect · diagnose
Where AnswerConnect tracking breaks, in the order we check
Start at the phone number, because most attribution is lost before a receptionist ever says hello.
- 01
Find the number the ad caller actually dialed
Call asset, website number or Google Business Profile number, and whether each one forwards to AnswerConnect.
- 02
Check whether find-me forwarding splits the call
If you or a tech answer first, no AnswerConnect message exists, so qualification needs a second source.
- 03
Place a test call from an ad-tagged URL
Then open the AnswerConnect message and confirm it matches the tracked call on caller number and time.
- 04
Test the Live Chat snippet
Start a chat from an ad-tagged landing page and see whether the chat record keeps the landing URL.
- 05
Look for one call counted three times
Google call conversions, AnswerConnect's Google Analytics push and imported GA4 goals can all claim one caller.
AnswerConnect · prove
The QA evidence — AnswerConnect
Run on live calls and chats through your real forwarding, never on a call placed straight to AnswerConnect.
Source of truth
AnswerConnect message log and call recordings, matched to booked and paid jobs in your job software
- A test call from an ad-tagged URL, with the click ID confirmed against its AnswerConnect message.
- Existing-customer and vendor calls confirmed absent from Google Ads and Meta.
- Exactly one conversion per paid job at each platform, with a shared event ID.
- Paid jobs reconciled one by one against Google Ads and Meta over a closed window.
- Repeated 30 days later and after any change to your forwarding schedule or phone provider.

AnswerConnect · when not to buy
When you don't need this on AnswerConnect
Some AnswerConnect accounts need a settings check, not a rebuild.
- If AnswerConnect only catches after-hours overflow and nearly every ad call lands while your office answers, fix tracking on your own line first.
- If you don't run paid ads and work comes from referrals and your Google Business Profile, AnswerConnect's own reports are enough.
- If you run one small campaign and read every message yourself, a call-tracking log and a weekly look at messages may be enough.
- If your receptionists mostly handle service-contract customers, retention reporting will tell you more than ad attribution.

FAQ
AnswerConnect questions, answered
Not according to its integration list or help center. Booked jobs reach Google Ads through offline conversion import from your own records instead.
Yes, if the call is tracked before the forward. The tracked number rings your line and your existing forwarding hands it to AnswerConnect; we test that chain on a live call.
Google counts a call once it passes a minimum length you set, or by its own AI read of the recording, and neither sees the message AnswerConnect's receptionist wrote. Qualifying each message and sending only real jobs back fixes the gap.
Its help center says it pushes call data to Google Analytics but doesn't say which fields. If that push doesn't carry the caller's website session, GA can't tie the call to an ad, so we check what it sends first.
AnswerConnect's docs describe no analytics events for chat. We record the chat start on your page and match the message it produces, like any other lead.
No. Your AnswerConnect forwarding stays as it is, and tracking numbers sit in front of it on your site and ads.
