Resy · Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking for Resy restaurants
Resy is one of the few reservation platforms that lists Google Analytics among its integrations, which is a real head start: if it is connected, some of your website bookings already show up in GA4. It also shows a Meta logo on the same page without saying what the connection does, and it feeds Reserve with Google. So the work on Resy is less about getting any signal and more about knowing exactly which signal each tool is getting.

What goes wrong with Resy tracking
Assuming the GA integration covers ads
Data in GA4 is not the same as a conversion Meta or Google Ads can optimize on.
A Meta connection nobody can describe
Resy shows the logo; what it sends, if anything, has to be checked.
Resy app diners in the same book
Guests who found you on Resy aren't ad conversions.
Three channels, one count
Website, Resy app and Reserve with Google bookings collapse together unless the source is kept.
Architecture
What Resy actually lets you do
From Resy's integrations page, plus the parts we still have to confirm on your account.
Step 1
Google Analytics listed as an integration
Under Data & Analytics. We verify which booking events it records in your property.
Step 2
Meta listed, type unspecified
Confirm whether it's a pixel, a catalog link or something else before counting on it.
Step 3
Reserve with Google
A booking channel that never touches your website.
Step 4
Check whether GTM or custom events are possible
Not documented, and it decides whether browser-side events can be extended.
Step 5
Check what reservation data can be exported
Source, party size and status are what server-side sending needs.
Diagnostic sequence
Working through a Resy tracking problem
Begin with what's already connected, because a half-working integration is easier to fix than to replace.
- 1
Book a test table and find it in GA4
This confirms the Google Analytics integration points at the right property.
- 2
Find out what the Meta connection sends
Check Events Manager for anything arriving from Resy.
- 3
Split reservations by source
Resy app and Google bookings shouldn't be counted as ad wins.
- 4
Check for double counting
If GA4 conversions are imported into Google Ads and another tag also fires, one booking counts twice.
- 5
Line up confirmed reservations with seated covers
No-shows distort campaign rankings.
Source-of-truth validation
What we verify on Resy
Done on a real Resy reservation made through your website.
- A website reservation confirmed in both Resy and GA4.
- Whatever Resy sends to Meta identified, then either used or replaced.
- Seated covers from website bookings set against Meta and Google Ads claims, one reservation at a time.
- Resy app and Reserve with Google bookings confirmed excluded from ad conversions.
- No double counting between GA4 imports and any direct tag.
- Each reservation in a closed fortnight matched individually across Resy, GA4 and the ad platforms.
- Rechecked 30 days later and after any Resy integration change.
Straight talk
When Resy's built-in tools are enough
Resy gets you further than most reservation systems out of the box.
- If you only advertise on Google and the GA integration is recording bookings in GA4, importing that conversion may be all you need.
- If most covers come from the Resy app, your website tracking moves very few tables.
- If you don't advertise on Meta, the open question about the Meta connection doesn't matter to you.
- If you need a monthly channel split rather than ad optimization, Resy's reporting plus GA4 can do it.
Who this is for
Honest about who we’re a fit for.
We don’t take every project. Here’s how to tell if we’re right for you.
You’re a great fit if…
- You run Resy (or are migrating to it)
- You spend $5K+/month on paid ads (Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn)
- Your reported ROAS doesn’t match what your bank account is saying
- You want to own your tracking stack — no monthly SaaS fees forever
- You have 2–4 days to do this once and never think about it again
Skip us if…
- You spend less than $500/month on paid ads (browser pixel is fine)
- You want a SaaS dashboard with monthly fees forever (Triple Whale, Hyros)
- You need attribution modeling — we fix the data foundation, not multi-touch reports
- You want a 6-month enterprise consulting engagement (we ship in 4 days)
- You expect us to manage your ad accounts (we don’t — that’s a different service)
If you’re still unsure, book the call anyway— we’ll tell you straight whether we can help.

Got questions?
The honestanswers.
No buzzwords, no upsell. If we don’t know, we say so.
01Resy lists Google Analytics. Isn't tracking done?
It's a start. GA4 receiving bookings is useful, but ad platforms optimize on their own conversions, and seated covers and no-shows usually aren't in that data.
02What does Resy's Meta integration do?
Resy's integrations page shows Meta without describing the connection. We check your Events Manager for what actually arrives before deciding anything.
03Should Resy app bookings count?
No. Those diners found you on Resy, and counting them inflates campaign results.
04Do Reserve with Google bookings show up in GA4?
They complete on Google's surfaces, not your website, so your tags don't see them. Resy's own records are where they're counted.
05Can we value reservations by party size?
Yes, if party size comes through from Resy's records. A table for six is worth more than a table for two and should be sent that way.
