Patient Prism says who booked. Your Google Ads still pays for every caller.
Patient Prism grades every call and marks the new patients who booked. Your ad accounts usually hear something cruder: a trigger reporting every New Opportunity, pool numbers that missed the click ID, and Google's own call-length goal counting the same ring. For dental groups, implant centers, orthodontists, oral surgeons and cardiology practices, we wire Patient Prism's booking status into Google Ads and Meta so bidding learns from patients who scheduled, not from anyone who dialed.

Patient Prism · what breaks
What goes wrong with Patient Prism and your ads
- 01
Google pays for callers who never booked
A trigger set to Classification has any New Opportunity sends price shoppers and not-booked implant inquiries to Google as wins. Bidding then buys more of them.
- 02
Two conversions for one phone call
Google's own call conversion counts a call-asset call once it passes the minimum length you set, then Patient Prism uploads the same call to its Calls from ads action. With both set as primary, your cost per new patient looks far cheaper than it is, and bidding chases it.
- 03
Meta and Microsoft clicks get lost in the organic pool
Patient Prism's recommended setup gives the paid pool the Google Ads insertion option. Facebook and Bing visitors then fall into the general pool, which Patient Prism says can run one to three numbers, so a reused number can pin the call on the wrong click or on none.
- 04
The connection dies when one login leaves
Patient Prism's Google Ads integration runs through the email of whoever connected it. If that person is downgraded or removed in Patient Prism or Google Ads, the integration breaks and booked patients stop reaching Google while the campaigns keep spending.
Patient Prism · the fix
What changes after we fix it — Patient Prism
Bidding trained on booked new patients
The primary conversion fires only when Patient Prism marks a new-patient call Booked, carrying a conversion value set in the trigger so Google knows what a new patient is worth to the practice.
Every paid click gets a pool number
Insertion options, pool size and pool pressure set so Google, Meta and Microsoft visitors each get a paid-pool number that isn't shared with another visitor mid-session.
Counts you can defend to the partners
Each reported conversion traces to one Patient Prism call record, so the ad dashboards agree with your front desk.
Patient Prism · architecture
What Patient Prism actually lets you hook into
All from Patient Prism's help center; anything unconfirmed is listed as a check.
- 1
Website pool numbers with insertion options
The code snippet swaps your office number by page and by source (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads, organic) and captures the GCLID and fbclid.
- 2
Google Ads offline conversions by trigger
Call Analysis Updated triggers report to a pair of actions: Import from clicks for calls with a GCLID, Calls from ads for call asset calls. Manager accounts are supported and you can override the value.
- 3
Meta Ads partner integration
Patient Prism is added as a partner on your ad account and posts calls or forms to your dataset as a standard or custom event, optionally only when an fbclid is present.
- 4
GA4 events through the Measurement Protocol
A Measurement ID plus API secret lets triggers create custom GA4 events for qualifying calls.
- 5
Webhooks, GraphQL API and scheduled exports
Raw call records with classification, booking status and UTM data can leave the platform for a server container. Microsoft Ads conversion upload isn't documented, so we confirm it.
Patient Prism · diagnose
Where Patient Prism tracking breaks, in the order we check
We start in the ad accounts, because bidding toward the wrong calls costs more than missing a few.
- 01
Read every trigger condition that reports to an ad platform
New Opportunity alone, or New Opportunity plus Booked?
- 02
Check which Google call conversions are primary
Google's own call-length goal and the Patient Prism import shouldn't both bid.
- 03
Click an ad and look for the click ID on the call
Per location, on desktop and mobile.
- 04
Check pool pressure and insertion options
High pressure reuses numbers between visitors and pins calls on the wrong click.
- 05
Confirm call assets forward to a Patient Prism number
Otherwise those calls never exist in Patient Prism.
- 06
Look for iframe forms and overlapping Pixels
Patient Prism says iframe forms can't be captured, and we check whether a site Pixel already fires its own call or lead event for the same patient.
Patient Prism · prove
The QA evidence — Patient Prism
Run on real calls from ad-tagged clicks to your live site and call assets, not on a test number nobody advertises.
Source of truth
Patient Prism call records: New Opportunity calls by location with booking status, referring source and captured click ID, cross-checked against new-patient appointments in your practice management system
- A test call from a Google ad click with the GCLID visible on the Patient Prism record.
- A test call from a Meta ad click with the fbclid captured and one event in Events Manager.
- A call asset call recorded in Patient Prism and accepted as a Calls from ads conversion.
- A Booked new-patient call reported once; a not-booked call reported nowhere.
- A reschedule and a confirmation call confirmed absent from every ad platform.
- Booked new patients reconciled against Google Ads and Meta over a closed window.
- The same reconciliation repeated 30 days later and after any trigger or pool change.

Patient Prism · when not to buy
When you don't need us for Patient Prism
Plenty of dental offices use Patient Prism purely for front-desk coaching, and that's fine.
- If you don't run paid ads and use Patient Prism for call grading and RELO follow-ups, there's nothing to send to an ad platform.
- If your triggers already report booked new patients only, Count is set to One and the numbers match your schedule, leave it alone.
- If nearly all new patients come from your Google Business Profile, Patient Prism's own referring-source reports will tell you more than ad attribution.
- If the only problem is a removed integration user, reconnect Google Ads from a shared service email, as Patient Prism's own setup guide recommends, and you're done.

The event map on Patient Prism
Paid visitor shown a pool number
The snippet swaps in a paid-ads pool number and stores the GCLID or fbclid for that session.

New patient booked
Booking status Booked: the primary conversion to Google Ads and Meta, with a value attached.

FAQ
Patient Prism questions, answered
Yes. Its triggers report calls to Google Ads conversion actions, but only calls Google already knows about: website pool calls with a captured GCLID, or calls from a call asset that forwards to a Patient Prism number.
Booked new patients should be the primary conversion. New Opportunity includes callers who never scheduled, so bidding on it buys more shoppers. If you keep it, make it secondary.
Yes, through a documented partner integration that posts calls or forms to your Meta dataset. Patient Prism says it relies on the fbclid captured by your website pool numbers, so the pool has to show for Meta visitors.
Pool numbers can target Microsoft Ads visitors, but we didn't find a Microsoft conversion upload in Patient Prism's docs. We confirm that with your account and, if it's missing, send booked calls through your own server container or an offline import.
Standard forms, yes, once the snippet and form tracking are on. Patient Prism says iframe forms can't be captured, so embedded intake or booking widgets need their own tracking.
Patient Prism updates the booking status, and its own guidance is to allow roughly 24 hours for records to settle. We set up the reporting so that late booking counts once, not twice.
