Conversion tracking for camps and classes sold on ActivityHero
ActivityHero is a marketplace first: parents search it, compare camps and register there, with their children's details saved for the next sign-up. When your ads send a parent to your listing, the registration completes on ActivityHero's pages rather than yours, and we found no public documentation of what tracking it allows. The job is to establish what it will let you see, and to keep the families ActivityHero found for you separate from the ones you paid to bring.

ActivityHero · what breaks
What goes wrong when camps sell through ActivityHero
- 01
Registration happens on the marketplace
Your own site's tags never see the checkout.
- 02
ActivityHero's search traffic mixed with yours
Families who found you by browsing get counted as ad conversions, or not counted at all.
- 03
One parent, three children, two weeks of camp
A bare registration count hides what the order was worth.
- 04
Early-bird season distorts everything
Spring sign-ups from last summer's families look like new acquisition.
ActivityHero · the fix
What you get instead — ActivityHero
Paid registrations counted at their real value
Per order, without any detail about the child.
Ad-driven and marketplace-driven families separated
So the camp budget is judged on families it actually bought.
Returning families flagged
Last year's campers kept out of acquisition.
ActivityHero · architecture
What ActivityHero actually lets you do
ActivityHero does not publish tracking documentation we could confirm, so every step below is a check, not a claim.
- 1
Check whether your listing accepts a Meta Pixel or Google tag
If it does, find out which pages it fires on, above all the confirmation.
- 2
Check whether a tagged link to your listing keeps its parameters
UTMs on the inbound link are the minimum for telling your traffic from the marketplace's own.
- 3
Check what the registration export contains
Date, amount and parent email are enough to reconcile offline.
- 4
Check whether its provider registration software can run on your site
ActivityHero offers registration software to providers; if it can sit on your domain, your tags can see more.
- 5
Assume no conversions are sent for you
Until a test shows otherwise, nothing reaches Meta or Google from ActivityHero.
ActivityHero · diagnose
Where ActivityHero tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
Most of the work here is separating sources, so the checks start there.
- 01
Count how many registrations had an ad click at all
If most did not, ActivityHero's search is doing the selling and ad tracking is the smaller question.
- 02
Click your own ad and make a test registration
Note exactly where the click data stops. That is the boundary to engineer around.
- 03
Compare the registration list with platform conversions by week
Camp demand is seasonal, so compare like weeks, not monthly totals.
- 04
Check whether multi-child orders count once or several times
Either can be defended; mixing both makes campaigns incomparable.
- 05
Separate last year's families
Re-enrollment by returning parents is not what you are paying ads to produce.
ActivityHero · prove
How the result is checked — ActivityHero
Done on your ActivityHero listing with a real registration, during a live season where possible.
Source of truth
ActivityHero's registration records for your listing, with amounts by date
- A test registration from a tagged ad click, with the point where tracking stops written down.
- Registrations reconciled family by family against each ad platform.
- Marketplace-originated registrations confirmed excluded from paid attribution.
- A cancellation or refund confirmed to reverse.
- Confirmed that no child names, ages or other child details reach any ad platform.
- Matched per record over a closed enrollment window.
- Repeated 30 days later and again when the next season opens.

ActivityHero · when not to buy
When you don't need this on ActivityHero
Some camps are better off spending the money elsewhere.
- If nearly all your families find you through ActivityHero search, put the effort into your listing and reviews, not into tracking ads you barely run.
- If you advertise for one summer only and the registration list is clear, a spreadsheet reconciliation may answer the question.
- If ActivityHero turns out to block every outside tag, an offline match on parent email may be the ceiling, and we will say that before you pay for more.
- Programs that fill from returning families each year need retention reporting more than ad tracking.

FAQ
ActivityHero questions, answered
We could not confirm that from ActivityHero's public pages, so it is the first thing we check on your account. If it is not possible, attribution moves to tagged links and an offline match.
Tag every link you control and treat anything untagged as marketplace or direct. It is not perfect, but it stops your ads taking credit for families ActivityHero found.
Yes, and we do not do it. Only the parent's hashed contact details and the order value are used; nothing about the child.
Count the order once and send its full value. Two-child families then look more valuable, as they should, without doubling the conversion count.
Sometimes not. If your ad spend is a few hundred dollars a season, a manual check of the registration list is usually enough.
