Conversion tracking for Twice Commerce rental stores

Twice Commerce, Rentle before the rename, runs your rental store either at its own twice.shop address or inside an iframe on your site. It does give you fields for a GA4 Measurement ID and a GTM container ID on the Build and Advance plans, but its own guide is plain that an embedded store needs a GTM container on your page and another inside the store. Set up only one side and a completed rental looks like a visitor who browsed some equipment and left.

Twice Commerce · what breaks

What goes wrong on Twice Commerce

  1. 01

    A store inside a frame

Your page and the embedded store are separate documents. A tag on one cannot see what happens in the other.

  2. 02

Integration fields tied to higher plans

The GA4 and GTM fields are documented for Build and Advance. On another plan there may be nowhere to put them.

  3. 03

    Rentals without their length

A one-day hire and a week-long one look identical when only the order count is sent.

  4. 04

    Meta added by guesswork

Twice documents no Meta pixel field, so it usually goes in through GTM, where it is easy to fire twice or not at all.

Twice Commerce · the fix

What changes — Twice Commerce

  • Completed rental orders as the conversion

At the order total from the store, not a click on a Book button.

  • One container plan for page and store

So an order is recorded whichever side the customer finishes on.

  • A server-side copy of every order

Sent from a first-party container on your subdomain and deduplicated against browser tags.

Twice Commerce · architecture

What Twice Commerce actually lets you do

From Twice Commerce's analytics guide. The Meta side is marked as unconfirmed.

  1. 1

GA4 Measurement ID and GTM ID fields

Found under Settings > Integrations & API in Twice admin.

  2. 2

    Build and Advance plans

The guide applies to these plans. Check yours before anything else.

  3. 3

Two containers for an embedded store

The vendor says both your website and the iframe need their own GTM container.

  4. 4

    A hosted twice.shop store

The alternative to embedding; tracking then runs only through the IDs set in Twice admin.

  5. 5

    Check how Meta is fired

No Meta pixel field is documented. If it goes in through GTM, check which events reach it and how often.

Twice Commerce · diagnose

Where Twice Commerce tracking breaks, in diagnostic order

Rental stores fail in a few predictable places. The iframe is the most common one.

  1. 01

Confirm the integration fields are filled in

And that your plan includes them at all.

  2. 02

Run Tag Assistant on the parent page and inside the store

Twice's own guide recommends confirming tags fire on both.

  3. 03

Place a real rental and look for the order event

Then check its value against the order total.

  4. 04

Count how many times Meta sees the order

From GTM inside the store, outside it, or both.

  5. 05

Check the consent banner on each side

Twice expects opt-in consent. A banner on one side only blocks or allows the wrong tags.

Twice Commerce · prove

The QA evidence — Twice Commerce

Run on your live store with a real rental, embedded the way your customers actually see it.

Source of truth

Twice Commerce's order list: completed rentals by order date, with order totals

  • A real rental placed through the embedded store, with tags seen firing on your page and inside the iframe.
  • The order total at GA4 and at each ad platform matched to the order in Twice admin.
  • A cancellation or refund shown to reverse.
  • Meta shown to receive each order exactly once.
  • The visitor's consent choice shown to apply to both containers.
  • Orders matched individually over a closed window.
  • Repeated a month later and after any Twice release that touches the store.

Twice Commerce · when not to buy

When you don't need this on Twice Commerce

Rental businesses are seasonal and often small. These are the cases where we would hold off.

  • If you link to twice.shop rather than embedding, and only need GA4, the native field may be all you need.
  • If your plan lacks the integration fields and you run no paid ads, upgrading for tracking alone is unlikely to pay back.
  • If most rentals happen at the counter or over the phone, the online store is a minority of revenue; measure that split first.
  • If your season is short and your ad budget small, one verified GA4 setup checked before opening day may be enough.

Twice Commerce questions, answered

Twice's own guide says so. The iframe is a separate page with its own container, and without both, the order happens where your tags are not.
