Conversion tracking for gyms and studios on TeamUp
For a gym, boxing club or yoga studio on TeamUp, the ad should be judged on new members, but most of the booking activity in the system is existing members reserving classes. TeamUp lets you embed Google Analytics on your TeamUp site and connects through Zapier and an API; whether a Meta Pixel can run there, and exactly how the customer portal and widgets sit on your website, are things to check on your own account first.

TeamUp · what breaks
Why studio ads look better or worse than they are on TeamUp
- 01
Members booking their usual classes
If a class booking counts as a conversion, your regulars generate most of it and the ads get the credit.
- 02
The intro offer is not the sale
A low-priced trial or first-week pass is the start. The membership after it is where the money is.
- 03
Trial attendance never reported
People buy the intro offer and never come. Without attendance, campaigns that sell unused trials look fine.
- 04
Memberships, class packs and add-ons blended
A monthly membership and a single drop-in sent at one value teaches the platforms nothing.
TeamUp · the fix
What a studio gets from it — TeamUp
New members as the conversion
Measured from TeamUp's own purchase and membership records.
The trial-to-membership step visible per campaign
So you can see which ads produce people who stay.
Existing members kept out of acquisition
Their class bookings stay in operations reporting where they belong.
TeamUp · architecture
What TeamUp actually lets you do
Some of this TeamUp states plainly. The rest is flagged as a check.
- 1
Google Analytics on your TeamUp site
TeamUp lets you embed GA to track your TeamUp site. Check which purchase and booking events it records before relying on it.
- 2
Zapier
A route for new purchases and memberships to leave TeamUp for a server-side conversion. Check which triggers your plan exposes.
- 3
The TeamUp API
For a more precise feed of members, purchases and attendance.
- 4
Customer portal and website widgets
Check whether these load on TeamUp's domain or inside your page, because that decides what your own tags can see.
- 5
Meta Pixel support: unverified
Check whether the portal accepts a pixel. If not, Meta conversions come from the server side only.
TeamUp · diagnose
Where TeamUp tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
Studios usually discover the main problem in the first check, which is why it comes first.
- 01
Find out which event is your conversion
If it is any class booking, most of what you see is your existing members.
- 02
Count new members against reported conversions
For a closed month, member by member.
- 03
Check trial attendance by campaign
Unused intro offers are common and they vary by ad.
- 04
Check where the purchase actually happens
Portal, widget, app or front desk, and whether your tags exist there.
- 05
Check whether values differ by product
If every purchase arrives at the same value, memberships and drop-ins are mixed.
TeamUp · prove
Proof on a live TeamUp purchase
Done with real purchases in your TeamUp account through the same portal your new members use.
Source of truth
TeamUp's membership and purchase records, new memberships and intro offers by date with product type
- An intro offer bought from an ad click and matched to the right campaign.
- First-class attendance recorded against that same person.
- Membership purchase sent as the conversion at its first payment.
- An existing member's class booking confirmed not sent to any ad platform.
- Class packs and drop-ins confirmed to carry their own values.
- New memberships reconciled one to one over a closed month.
- Re-checked 30 days later, after the next intro-offer campaign.

TeamUp · when not to buy
When you don't need this on TeamUp
Not every studio needs a server-side build. Some signs you can skip it.
- If almost all new members walk in from the street or come through a friend, spend the money on the front desk asking where they heard about you.
- If you sign up a handful of members a month, matching them to ads by hand is quicker than any build.
- If the GA on your TeamUp site already records purchases correctly and you only advertise on Google, fixing that import may be enough.
- If memberships are sold mostly in person after a free class, track the free-class sign-up and let staff record the rest.

FAQ
TeamUp questions, answered
We could not confirm it from TeamUp's public pages. Check your settings and run a test purchase; if there is no pixel option, Meta gets its conversions server-side.
Most likely member class bookings or intro offers that never turned into memberships are being counted. The fix starts with changing what counts.
Use it as an early signal while volume is low, then move to membership started. The intro offer price is too small to steer bidding well on its own.
Not directly as far as we could confirm, but Zapier and the API can carry them out of TeamUp to a server container that does.
They can be matched if the member's email or phone was captured when they clicked, otherwise they stay offline. Staff asking the source helps here.
