Conversion tracking for Squarespace Scheduling
Squarespace Scheduling is Acuity under a Squarespace name, so the scheduler block on your site is really a frame served by the scheduling engine rather than part of your own page. Your site analytics records the visit to the page holding the block, then loses the client the moment they pick a time inside it. Acuity's documented Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and custom conversion code options carry over, but Squarespace's own help on them is thin, so each one gets confirmed on a live booking before anything relies on it.

Every figure above is either a commitment we put in writing or a countable fact. What your own setup is losing is not on this list, because we haven’t measured it yet — that happens on the call, against your own order records.

What goes wrong with Squarespace Scheduling
The scheduler block is a frame, not your page
Your Squarespace analytics stops at the page that holds the block; the booking happens inside it.
Two Pixels claiming one booking
A site-wide Meta Pixel from Squarespace settings plus the scheduler's own Pixel connection can both report the same appointment.
Classes and private sessions at one value
A drop-in class and a one-to-one session are worth different amounts but often report identically.
Package credits logged as new sales
A client spending a prepaid package is not a new customer, yet the booking looks like one.
Architecture
What Squarespace Scheduling actually lets you do
It runs on Acuity's engine, so Acuity's documented hooks are the reference. Anything specific to Squarespace is listed as a check.
Step 1
Google Analytics connection (Acuity's)
Documented for Acuity. Confirm it reports bookings made inside your Squarespace block, not just page views.
Step 2
Meta Pixel connection (Acuity's)
Documented for Acuity. Check whether it overlaps the Pixel already set in Squarespace's site-wide settings.
Step 3
Custom conversion tracking code
Acuity documents a place for your own conversion code, which is where a booking event with a deduplication ID belongs.
Step 4
Check how the Squarespace block inherits these
Squarespace-specific documentation is unverified, so test whether the block uses the same settings as the standalone scheduler.
Step 5
No server-side sending
Nothing here posts conversions to ad platforms from your records.
Diagnostic sequence
Where Squarespace Scheduling tracking breaks, in diagnostic order
Start with overlaps, because on a Squarespace site the commonest fault is a booking counted twice rather than missed.
- 1
Count the Meta Pixels firing on one test booking
The Squarespace header plus the scheduler connection is the usual pair.
- 2
Check whether the click ID reaches the appointment record
Book once from an ad-tagged URL and open the record.
- 3
Compare attended sessions with reported conversions
Per appointment, over a closed week.
- 4
Separate package purchases from session bookings
Two events, two values.
- 5
Check how prepaid credits are reported
If redemptions count as purchases, return on ad spend is inflated.
Source-of-truth validation
The QA evidence
Run on a real booking through the scheduler block on your live Squarespace site, not through the admin preview.
- One booking from an ad-tagged URL, with the identifier confirmed on the appointment.
- Exactly one Meta conversion per booking, confirmed in Events Manager with a shared event ID.
- Attended sessions reconciled per appointment against Meta and Google Ads.
- A cancellation reversed and a reschedule left alone.
- Package redemptions confirmed absent from the acquisition conversion.
- Matched record by record across a fully closed window.
- Repeated 30 days later and after any change to the Squarespace site template.
Straight talk
When you don't need this on Squarespace Scheduling
Some Squarespace sites are better served by a fifteen-minute settings check.
- If you advertise on one platform and the scheduler's own Pixel or Analytics connection reports bookings that match your appointment list, leave it alone.
- If nearly every booking comes from members spending packages, retention reporting will tell you more than ad attribution.
- If payment happens later, in person or in another system, reconcile that before tracking the booking.
- If the only fault is a duplicate Pixel, removing one is a small job and we will tell you to do it yourself.
Who this is for
Honest about who we’re a fit for.
We don’t take every project. Here’s how to tell if we’re right for you.
You’re a great fit if…
- You run Square (or are migrating to it)
- You spend $5K+/month on paid ads (Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn)
- Your reported ROAS doesn’t match what your bank account is saying
- You want to own your tracking stack — no monthly SaaS fees forever
- You have 2–4 days to do this once and never think about it again
Skip us if…
- You spend less than $500/month on paid ads (browser pixel is fine)
- You want a SaaS dashboard with monthly fees forever (Triple Whale, Hyros)
- You need attribution modeling — we fix the data foundation, not multi-touch reports
- You want a 6-month enterprise consulting engagement (we ship in 4 days)
- You expect us to manage your ad accounts (we don’t — that’s a different service)
If you’re still unsure, book the call anyway— we’ll tell you straight whether we can help.

Got questions?
The honestanswers.
No buzzwords, no upsell. If we don’t know, we say so.
01Is Squarespace Scheduling tracking the same as Acuity tracking?
Underneath, yes — it is the same engine, so Acuity's documented Analytics, Pixel and custom-code options are the starting point. What differs is how the block sits on your Squarespace site, and that is what gets tested.
02Why does Meta show more bookings than we actually have?
Usually two Pixels: one installed site-wide through Squarespace and one connected to the scheduler. Both see the same booking and, without a shared event ID, both count it.
03Can the scheduler block see our UTM parameters?
Not on its own, because the frame loads from another origin. The identifier has to be handed in, typically through a prefilled intake field, and confirmed on a real appointment.
04Do package and gift certificate sales get tracked?
They should be, as their own purchase event with their own value. Folding them into session bookings makes both numbers wrong.
05Will this break when Squarespace updates the block?
It can, which is why the check repeats 30 days later and after any template change. The server-side half doesn't depend on the block's markup at all.
