Humanitix · Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking for Humanitix ticket sales
Humanitix gives organizers two very different checkouts: the hosted event page on humanitix.com, and widgets embedded on your own site. Only the second can be tracked properly from your side, through the Echo script that pushes hx-echo events into your dataLayer. The GTM container field on the hosted page is being retired, and the page's content security policy already limits which tags run there, so a setup built on it is living on borrowed time.

Every figure above is either a commitment we put in writing or a countable fact. What your own setup is losing is not on this list, because we haven’t measured it yet — that happens on the call, against your own order records.

Where Humanitix sales go missing
A GTM container on a page that won't keep it
The hosted-page GTM field is being retired, and CSP already blocks some tags.
Echo firing Meta's Purchase on its own
Add your own Purchase tag as well and every order counts twice.
Buyers sent off to humanitix.com
Your click IDs and cookies stay behind on your domain.
Refunded tickets left standing
The ad platform keeps credit for orders that were reversed.
Architecture
What Humanitix actually lets you do
Humanitix offers more tracking than most ticketing platforms. The catch is which of it runs where.
Step 1
Native GA4 and Meta Pixel fields
Ecommerce-ready GA4 and a pixel on the hosted event pages, both browser-side.
Step 2
A GTM container ID field, on its way out
Documented as being retired, and constrained by the hosted page's content security policy.
Step 3
Humanitix Echo for widgets on your site
Pushes hx-echo dataLayer events with ecommerce data, and calls fbq itself when the Meta Pixel is loaded.
Step 4
Seeka as a paid add-on
A third-party route Humanitix points to for Meta, Google, TikTok and Snap, including server-side.
Step 5
Native Conversions API not confirmed
We found no documentation of Humanitix sending server events itself, so the plan assumes it does not.
Diagnostic sequence
How we find the Humanitix gap
Five checks, in rough order of how often each one turns out to be the answer on Humanitix.
- 1
Count Meta Purchases per real order
Two per order means Echo and your own tag are both firing.
- 2
Split sales by hosted page and embedded widget
Tracking quality is usually very different between the two.
- 3
Check whether the GTM field still loads anything
Open the hosted page and watch which tags the CSP blocks.
- 4
Confirm hx-echo events reach your dataLayer
Without the Echo script on the page, the widget is silent.
- 5
Look for refunds still counted as revenue
Compare refunded orders with platform purchase totals.
Source-of-truth validation
What we hand you as proof
Every check uses a real ticket bought on a live Humanitix event.
- A ticket bought through the embedded widget, with the hx-echo purchase event captured.
- Exactly one Meta Purchase for that order, browser and server merged.
- Order value and ticket quantity matching the Humanitix order to the cent.
- A refunded order shown reversing at every destination.
- Hosted-page sales reported on their own line, with their ceiling stated.
- A full sales window reconciled order by order, never on totals.
- Repeated when the next event opens, and after Humanitix changes the GTM field.
Straight talk
When Humanitix's own tracking is enough
Not every organizer needs a server build. Some honest cases:
- If you sell a handful of events a year mostly through email and social posts rather than paid ads, the native GA4 and pixel fields will do.
- If you already pay for Seeka and it reconciles against your orders, keep it. Check it before replacing it.
- If every sale already runs through the embedded widget with Echo, a careful browser-side setup may get you close enough.
Who this is for
Honest about who we’re a fit for.
We don’t take every project. Here’s how to tell if we’re right for you.
You’re a great fit if…
- You run Humanitix (or are migrating to it)
- You spend $5K+/month on paid ads (Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn)
- Your reported ROAS doesn’t match what your bank account is saying
- You want to own your tracking stack — no monthly SaaS fees forever
- You have 2–4 days to do this once and never think about it again
Skip us if…
- You spend less than $500/month on paid ads (browser pixel is fine)
- You want a SaaS dashboard with monthly fees forever (Triple Whale, Hyros)
- You need attribution modeling — we fix the data foundation, not multi-touch reports
- You want a 6-month enterprise consulting engagement (we ship in 4 days)
- You expect us to manage your ad accounts (we don’t — that’s a different service)
If you’re still unsure, book the call anyway— we’ll tell you straight whether we can help.

Embedded checkout as the main sales path
Server-sideSo the purchase happens on your domain, where Echo can report it.
One Purchase per order, not two
8+ EMQEcho's automatic fbq call deduplicated against the server event.
Ticket revenue with quantity attached
DedupedTaken from the order, not inferred from a page view.

Got questions?
The honestanswers.
No buzzwords, no upsell. If we don’t know, we say so.
01Is the Humanitix GTM field still safe to use?
Humanitix documents it as being retired, and the hosted page's content security policy already stops some tags. Build anything new on Echo and your own domain.
02Why is Meta's purchase count higher than our ticket sales?
Echo calls fbq automatically when the Meta Pixel is on the page. If you also added a Purchase tag, each order is counted twice; remove one or give both a shared event ID.
03Does Humanitix send server-side conversions to Meta?
We have not found documentation that it does. Seeka offers that as a paid third party; our build sends it from your own first-party container.
04Can we track sales made on humanitix.com rather than our site?
Partly. The native pixel and GA4 fields work there, but your cookies do not travel with the buyer, so attribution on that path is weaker. Pointing paid traffic at the embedded checkout fixes most of it.
05Should booking fees be in the conversion value?
Usually not. Send what you as the organizer receive per order, so return on ad spend is measured on your money rather than the buyer's total.
