WebflowFor Webflow Sites & Webflow E-commerce

Get your Webflow tracking to 95%+ accuracy guaranteed in writing.

Default Webflow tracking is browser-only. Forms don't reach Meta CAPI. iOS purchases don't survive Safari ITP. Your ad platforms are guessing — and they're guessing wrong. We turn your Webflow site into a first-party tracking machine with a 1st-party server-side GTM gateway that fires CAPI events on every form, every checkout, every signal that matters.

Webflow · what breaks

Webflow tracking gaps

  1. 01

Form submissions don't reach ad platforms

Default Webflow form events stay browser-only.

  2. 02

    E-commerce purchase events miss data

Default integrations skip line-items and customer detail.

  3. 03

    Custom code injection limits

Webflow's per-page code limit forces consolidation in Site Settings.

Webflow · the fix

What we build — Webflow

  • Form CAPI gateway

Worker that hashes and forwards form submits to Meta/Google.

  • E-commerce purchase CAPI

Server-side purchases with full advanced matching.

  • GA4 e-com schema

    Clean view_item, add_to_cart, purchase events.

Webflow · architecture

How a Webflow order should reach the ad platforms

Webflow sites are usually either a marketing site feeding a form, or Webflow Ecommerce with its own hosted checkout. The two need different builds and are often confused for each other.

  1. 1

Click identifiers captured at first touch

Click IDs are captured in the site-wide custom code at landing and written to a first-party cookie, so they survive to the form submission or through the checkout redirect.

  2. 2

The browser sends the fast, fragile copy

Webflow's custom code area fires the browsing, form and cart events. Webflow forms submit via AJAX and expose a success state that can be listened to, which is the correct trigger rather than a generic submit listener.

  3. 3

The order itself is the source of truth

For Ecommerce, the Webflow order webhook is the truth. For a marketing site, the truth is whatever system actually receives the lead — the CRM, not the form.

  4. 4

A server container sends the authoritative event

The order or form webhook posts to a GTM server container on your own subdomain, keyed on the order ID or a generated submission ID.

  5. 5

    Customer identity raises match quality

Order or form email and phone are hashed server-side and sent with the conversion, which is where Enhanced Conversions and CAPI match quality come from on a Webflow build.

Webflow · events

The event set we build on Webflow, and where each one comes from

The most consequential Webflow decision is what counts as a conversion: the form submit, or the qualified lead it becomes in your CRM.

Webflow · normal or broken

Webflow specifics worth knowing

Webflow's form behavior causes more tracking faults than its ecommerce does.

Normal, not a fault

  • No page load after a form submit

Webflow forms submit via AJAX and swap in a success block. There is no new page to trigger on, which is why the success state has to be listened for explicitly.

  • Webflow Analytics differing from GA4

    Different session and attribution models.

  • Ad platforms report more conversions than you have orders

Meta credits a 7-day click and 1-day view; Google credits on click date. Two platforms can each claim the same sale. Compare each one to your order records separately and never add them together.

  • Recent days always look worse than they finish

Conversions are credited back to the date of the click, so yesterday's return on ad spend is understated and will keep improving for several days. This is attribution working, not data arriving late.

Actually broken

  • A generic form-submit listener counting failed validations

Every rejected submission is reported as a lead. Bidding then optimizes toward people who fill forms out incorrectly.

  • Conversions tracked on a success page that is also directly reachable

Anyone landing on that URL, including from search, is counted as a conversion.

  • Custom code lost on a site restore or template change

Webflow's publish model can drop custom code. Tracking stops with no warning.

Webflow · prove

How we prove the Webflow build is correct

The tag firing proves the tag fires. These prove the numbers are right.

Source of truth

Webflow Ecommerce order records, or your payment processor's records

  • The lead event confirmed firing only on the AJAX success state, tested by submitting an invalid form.
  • Any success page confirmed not to be independently reachable, or the conversion moved off it entirely.
  • Custom code confirmed present after a republish.
  • Purchase count within a few percent of webflow ecommerce order records, or your payment processor's records for a fully closed week, matched on order ID rather than on totals.
  • No order ID appearing twice in any platform's event log.
  • Deduplication confirmed at every destination that supports it.
  • Test and staff orders excluded, with the exclusion confirmed active rather than merely configured.
  • The same reconciliation repeated 30 days later, because a setup that works once and then drifts is the harder failure to catch.

Webflow · when not to buy

When a Webflow rebuild is not what you need

We would rather say this now than three weeks into an engagement.

  • Your Webflow site is a brochure with no form and no store. There is nothing to convert.
  • You spend under about $1,500 a month on ads and your form tracking already fires correctly on success.
  • Your leads close in the same session and you have no CRM. Then a correct form event is the whole job.
