For Shopify & WooCommerce DTC brands spending $5K+/month on paid media
Is Meta missing purchases from your store? Find the tracking gap before you scale.
Shopify, Meta and your payment records can disagree for different reasons: duplicate events, browser loss, missing customer signals, refunds that never flow back, or attribution-window differences. We compare your store orders with Meta’s reported purchase events, identify what is actually broken, and show what a consent-aware server-side rebuild would change.

Best fit for DTC brands spending $5K+/month on Meta, Google or TikTok and seeing a gap between store revenue and platform reporting.
Possible causes
- Missing browser/server events
- Duplicate purchase events
- Weak customer matching
- Refunds not sent back
- Attribution-window differences
The problem
Your store has the revenue record. Does Meta have the right signal?
Purchase counts do not reconcile
Shopify, Meta and GA4 show different numbers, and nobody has compared them order by order. The audit does exactly that, matched on order ID.
ROAS does not match the bank account
Refunds, repeat customers, attribution windows and channel overlap all move the dashboard total away from what you actually banked.
Your account optimizes on incomplete data
Browser-only delivery, duplicate events or weak customer matching reduce the quality of the signal Meta has to bid on. Not a catastrophe — a fixable gap.
Not every difference is a tracking error. Some differences come from attribution windows and channel overlap. The audit separates normal reporting differences from actual implementation problems.
Platform revenue claims sum to more than you banked
Three platforms each crediting the same order. Compare each to your store total individually; never add them together.
Meta reports more purchases than your store
7-day click and 1-day view attribution credits orders that also came through other channels. Expected behavior.
Blended ROAS falling while the business grows
Usually a mix shift toward returning customers, or a channel scaling into a colder audience. Look at new-customer ROAS before concluding anything.
Purchase count higher than order count on a single platform
Duplicate firing. A theme tag plus a container tag, or an app plus a manual integration.
Refunds never reaching the ad platforms
Reported ROAS is permanently inflated by your return rate, and the worst products look like the best.
Meta Purchase EMQ below 6
Customer parameters are missing or malformed on the server events, and delivery suffers for it.
Test and staff orders in the conversion data
They train bidding on people who will never buy again.

Six quick answers. You will hear back within one business day with next steps.
How it works
From unclear numbers to a measurement stack you can defend.
- 01
Audit
We map your browser, server, store and ad-platform events.
- 02
Reconcile
We compare events with your order records and separate normal attribution differences from actual tracking failures.
- 03
Rebuild
Where needed, we implement first-party server-side events, deduplication, matching and consent controls.
- 04
Validate
We test event delivery, compare results against the source of truth, and provide documented handover evidence.
The goal is not to make every platform report the same number. The goal is to give each platform the most accurate, consent-aware signal available and make the differences explainable.
The mechanism
What a reliable DTC measurement stack includes
A DTC brand runs Meta, Google, TikTok and email simultaneously, and each will claim credit for the same order. Without one agreed source of truth you end up making budget decisions on the sum of four overlapping claims.
Store order record as source of truth
Browser + server events with deterministic deduplication
Purchase event tied to order ID
Hashed customer information where appropriate
Refund and cancellation feedback
New versus returning customer distinction
Consent-aware event routing
Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions and other destinations
QA and documentation on infrastructure the client owns
Server-side delivery is not a substitute for consent. We configure event routing to respect the applicable consent state, platform requirements and your privacy obligations.
What a DTC measurement stack should look like when it is working
- Step 1
The store is the source of truth, always
Every platform's reported revenue is measured as a claim against store orders. This is the discipline that makes the rest coherent.
- Step 2
One order ID travels everywhere
Meta, Google, TikTok, GA4 and Klaviyo all receive the same order ID, so any of them can be reconciled per-order instead of on totals.
- Step 3
Purchases are sent server-side
The order exists in the backend regardless of what the browser did. This is what recovers the iOS and ad-blocker losses that hit DTC hardest.
- Step 4
Customer identity raises match quality
Hashed email, phone, name, city, state and zip from the order push Meta's match quality where it needs to be, which directly affects delivery.
- Step 5
Refunds and cancellations are reported back
A high-return category with no refund reporting has permanently inflated ROAS, and the campaigns with the worst return rates look like the best.
- Step 6
New versus returning is separated
Blended ROAS hides whether paid is acquiring anyone. New-customer revenue as its own metric is usually the number that changes decisions.
The DTC event set
| Event | Fires when | Key parameters | Sent from |
|---|---|---|---|
| view_item | Product page loads | item_id, value, currency, event_id | Browser + server, deduped |
| add_to_cart | Item added | item_id, value, currency, event_id | Browser + server, deduped |
| begin_checkout | Checkout entered | value, currency, num_items, event_id | Browser + server, deduped |
| purchase | Order confirmed by the store | order_id, value, currency, items[], hashed email/phone/name/address, event_id | Server authoritative |
| purchase (new customer) | Order from a first-time buyer | order_id, value, new_customer flag | Server — the metric that matters most |
| refund | Refund issued | order_id, value, currency | Server only |
| subscription_started | First recurring charge | value, currency, predicted_ltv | Server only |

95%+ conversion accuracy on Shopify & WooCommerce
Measured against your own order records at handover. Miss it and we keep working at no cost until it’s met.
A commitment, not a generic benchmark
Accuracy is checked against the client’s own closed order records at handover. The exact starting gap is measured before implementation.
How it is checked · source of truth: Store order records
- Each platform's purchase count reconciled against store orders for one closed week, matched on order ID.
- No order ID appearing twice in any platform's event log.
- Meta Purchase EMQ at 8 or above, sustained over a week.
- Refunds propagating to every platform, verified with a real refund.
- New-customer revenue reported separately from total revenue.
- Test and staff orders excluded, with the exclusion confirmed active.
- The reconciliation repeated 30 days later.

Who this is for
Honest about who we’re a fit for.
- Shopify or WooCommerce DTC brand
- Spending approximately $5K+/month on paid media
- Seeing a mismatch between store revenue and platform reporting
- Running Meta, Google or TikTok conversion campaigns
- Wants to own the tracking stack
- Has access to store, analytics and ad-platform records
- Spending under $500/month and needing only a basic pixel setup
- Running awareness/reach campaigns without conversion optimization
- Already has EMQ 8+ and verified deduplication
- Wants creative, media buying or full ad-account management only
- Wants a dashboard but does not need the underlying tracking fixed
If you spend below $2K/month, your platform’s native integration may be enough. We will tell you if a custom rebuild is unlikely to pay for itself.
If a rebuild is warranted
Choose the lightest setup that matches your ad volume and tracking complexity.
The audit tells you which one, or that you need none of them. One-time fees; you own everything that gets built.

No monthly fee to us. The server-side container runs on infrastructure you own — Stape or your own Google Cloud project — and that host bills you directly, usually a small monthly amount that scales with traffic. We estimate it for your volume during the audit.
Before you request
Questions DTC brands ask first
Do I need to give you access to my ad account to request the audit?+
No. The form needs only your store URL, platform and spend range. During the session, read-only access to Events Manager and a store order export make the review more precise, but the request itself needs nothing.
Will the rebuild make Shopify, Meta and GA4 report the same number?+
No, and it should not. Meta credits 7-day click and 1-day view conversions, GA4 uses its own attribution, and your store counts every order. The goal is that each platform receives the most accurate, consent-aware signal available and that the remaining differences are explainable.
Is server-side tracking a way around consent?+
No. Server-side delivery is not a substitute for consent. We configure event routing to respect the applicable consent state, platform requirements and your privacy obligations. An event a visitor has declined does not get sent by a different route.
What exactly does the 95%+ accuracy commitment mean?+
At handover we reconcile each platform's purchase events against your own closed order records for a set period, matched on order ID. The commitment is that the match rate reaches 95% or better, and we keep working at no cost until it does. The starting gap is measured before implementation so both sides know what changed.
Are there any monthly costs after the one-time fee?+
Not from us. The server-side container runs on infrastructure you own — Stape or your own Google Cloud project — and that host bills you directly, usually a small monthly amount that scales with traffic. We estimate it for your volume during the audit.
Do you support subscriptions and multiple stores?+
Yes. Recharge, Bold, Smartrr and native Shopify subscriptions are covered, with first and recurring charges separated. Multi-store brands run on a single container with brand-aware routing.
