How to track quote request to closed job for Snapchat Ads
A quote request is the cheapest thing a home services or contracting funnel produces, and the population that requests the most quotes is the population most likely to buy on price. The job that actually closes lives in a field service or job management system, weeks later, at a value that varies by an order of magnitude between a repair and a replacement. On Snapchat Ads the specifics that matter are the click identifier (the ScCid click identifier), the import mechanism (the Snapchat Conversions API), and Snapchat deduplicates on a client-supplied event identifier shared between the pixel and the Conversions API. The chain only works end to end if the identifier is captured on landing and stored on the job record in your field service or job management system — no cookie survives the gap between quote requested and job completed.

Where this funnel usually breaks
The identifier dies at the job system boundary
The lead form captures it, and the estimator creates the job in software that never received the field. This one hop explains most broken attribution in contracting.
Estimates counted as conversions
An estimate is not revenue, and the estimate-to-close rate varies enough by campaign to reverse which one looks best.
Contract values averaged
The difference between a repair and a replacement is exactly the signal bidding needs. Averaging removes it.

Snapchat for contractors: usually the wrong buyer, track the form
If you run Snapchat for contracting, capture the ScCid click identifier on the quote form, persist it server-side, and send the quote request through Snapchat's Conversions API. Signed jobs can be sent back with contract value, but most residential contractors will find Snapchat's young, mostly non-homeowner audience produces few jobs worth tracking.
The person who signs a contract for a new roof or HVAC system usually owns a home, and most of Snapchat's audience does not yet. That makes Snapchat a poor fit for most quote-to-job funnels, and the measurement conversation should start there. Exceptions are narrow: services aimed at renters or students, such as moving, junk removal or small handyman jobs, and those rarely involve a separate estimate stage.
If you test it anyway, keep the build minimal. Capture ScCid server-side when the quote form submits, send the request as a lead-type event, and confirm in Snapchat's current event list which name fits. Send signed jobs back with their value only if any appear, so the test can be judged on revenue rather than on cheap form fills, which Snapchat will produce in quantity.
The specific break is that quote forms opened in Snapchat's in-app browser often lose the identifier on a multi-step form or a redirect to a scheduling page, and the user can close the browser mid-form with nothing saved. A one-page form with the identifier written to the server on the first step loses less.
Architecture
The exact event sequence
Five stages. The break is almost always between stages one and four, where the identifier has to survive a handoff from a web form into a field service system that a different team administers — and where the value spread between a small repair and a full replacement is wide enough that averaging destroys the signal. The identifier has to survive all of them.
Step 1
Quote requested
A form or a call. High volume, and most of it is comparison shopping across three or four vendors.
Step 2
Estimate scheduled
A time commitment from the customer, and the first signal that means anything.
Step 3
Estimate attended
The visit actually happened. No-show rates on cold paid traffic are meaningful and differ by campaign.
Step 4
Job signed
The money event, at the actual contract value rather than an average.
Step 5
Job completed
Final revenue, which can differ from the contract once change orders land.
Diagnostic sequence
What's specific to Snapchat Ads
The funnel logic above is the same wherever you advertise. These are the parts that change because it's Snapchat Ads.
- 1
Click identifier: the ScCid click identifier
Snapchat appends its click identifier to your landing page URL, and matches additionally on hashed email, phone and mobile advertising IDs. The environment is what makes this hard: traffic arrives inside Snapchat's in-app browser, whose storage behavior is inconsistent, so an identifier captured into a cookie rather than persisted server-side frequently is not there when the conversion happens.
- 2
Import mechanism: the Conversions API
Server events posted to Snapchat's Conversions API carrying the click identifier and hashed customer information. Verify the current endpoint and required field names against Snapchat's own documentation before building rather than trusting an older integration guide.
- 3
Deduplication
Same shape as Meta: the browser pixel and the server event must carry the same identifier for the same conversion. Given how much Snapchat traffic never runs the pixel successfully, some advertisers here send server-side only — which is a defensible choice on this audience and removes the deduplication problem entirely. Decide deliberately rather than running both and hoping.
- 4
Window and timing
Snapchat's attribution windows are configurable and its defaults differ from Meta's. Confirm what your account is set to before reconciling anything, and verify the accepted event-freshness limit for server events against current documentation.
- 5
The Snapchat gotcha
Snapchat skews young and almost entirely mobile. If your buyer is not in that profile, no measurement work makes the channel viable — and that is a media planning conversation rather than a tracking one, worth having before anyone builds.
Source-of-truth validation
How to prove the chain works
One real journey, followed all the way, then a reconciliation. Neither on its own is enough.
- A live Snapchat ad clicked, and the identifier confirmed present on the landing URL.
- The same identifier confirmed on the job record in your field service or job management system after a full real journey through every step.
- Job completed confirmed arriving at Snapchat Ads, verified by the events received and matched in Snapchat Ads Manager, reconciled against your own records.
- Your job management system's signed and completed jobs, by date, at their contract values reconciled against Snapchat Ads per record over a fully closed window.
- The same reconciliation repeated 30 days later.
Straight talk
When this doesn't apply to you
Worth checking before you build anything, because two of these are common and both mean the work isn't worth doing.
- If you close on the first call at a flat price with no site visit, this funnel collapses into a much simpler one and you do not need the job system in the loop. Say so before anyone quotes you for it.
- If your customers are not in Snapchat's age profile, the channel is the wrong question. We would rather say that than build measurement for a campaign that cannot work.
- If your cycle from click to job completed regularly exceeds the import window, the final event can't drive bidding whatever you build. Optimize toward attended estimate, valued at your own estimate-to-close rate instead and use the later data for budget decisions rather than for bidding.
- If almost none of your job records carry a click identifier today, that's the whole project. Fix capture first — the import is the easy half and no tooling rescues a record with nothing to reference.
What working looks like
Job completed attributed to the click
Server-sideWeeks later if necessary, because the identifier lives on the job record in your field service or job management system rather than in a cookie.
Snapchat bidding fed the real outcome
8+ EMQVia the Conversions API, so it optimizes toward jobs that actually close rather than toward quote requests.
A reconciliation that closes
DedupedYour job management system's signed and completed jobs, by date, at their contract values matched per record against what Snapchat Ads reports, over a fully closed window.
The implementation, on Snapchat Ads
Capture the ScCid click identifier on landing
Read the click identifier from the landing URL and persist it server-side on first sight. On this traffic specifically, assuming the in-app browser will still hold it at conversion time is the mistake.
Persist it to the job record in your field service or job management system
Capture the identifier at the landing page, store it server-side, and write it onto the job record when the estimator creates it — not only onto the web lead, which is where most setups stop.
Send job completed from the record
The job management system, when the contract is signed — with the real contract value and the job type attached. Fire on completion instead if change orders routinely move the number and you would rather report what was invoiced. Dispatched to Snapchat Ads through the Snapchat Conversions API.
Deduplicate and reverse
Snapchat deduplicates on a client-supplied event identifier shared between the pixel and the conversions api. Cancelled jobs and contracts that never break ground should reverse. In contracting this is common enough that ignoring it overstates reported revenue by a visible margin.

The honestanswers.
No buzzwords, no upsell. If we don’t know, we say so.
01Is Snapchat a good ad platform for home improvement contractors?
Rarely. Its audience skews young and toward renters, so it suits small jobs such as moving or junk removal better than estimated projects.
02Which conversion should a contractor send to Snapchat?
The quote request as a lead-type event, plus signed jobs with value if any come through, so the test is judged on revenue.
03Why isn't estimate scheduled enough to optimize on?
Because quote requests are dominated by people collecting three bids, and the campaigns that produce the cheapest quote requests routinely produce the worst close rates. Optimizing on quote volume lowers your cost per quote and does nothing to your revenue.
04How does the identifier survive to job completed?
It doesn't, as a cookie — the gap is too long. It has to be written onto the job record in your field service or job management system at the point of quote requested, where it lives as a field rather than as browser storage.
05What does Snapchat Ads need to accept the conversion?
An event name Snapchat recognizes, a shared event identifier if you are also running the pixel, a timestamp, hashed customer information, and the click identifier where you have it.
06How long does this take to build?
Two to four days for the implementation, plus a closed reconciliation window before we'd call it verified. Capture and persistence are the fiddly parts; the import itself is usually an afternoon.
07Can I do this myself?
Yes, and the reference pages on this site cover the mechanics. The part that's genuinely tedious rather than clever is keeping the ScCid click identifier alive through multi-step forms and the handoff from the web lead into the field service system, which fails silently at every stage.
